The Mariners just traded for (former ASU star) Mike Leake to bolster their rotation.
Fewer opportunities for Andrew and Sam.
Leake is signed through 2020, with an option for 2021.

Its too bad for the ex Beavers because Leake has been terrible, especially in August. And that was in the NL.

Andrew Moore starting tonight for M's. Matt Boyd starting for Tigers tonight. Moore had the better start: 6 IP, 3H, 2ER, 2 BB's, and 3 K's. The Mariners blew the 3-2 lead and lost 5-3. Boyd: 6 IP, 7H, 4ER, 2 BB's, and 4 K's. Boyd entered the seventh tied 2-2 but gave up back-to-back doubles. Saupold came on and gave up three consecutive hits to run the score to 5-2. Laubourt relieved Saupold and gave up a sixth run on a WP. Two other Tiger relievers gave up an additional seven runs for a 13-2 rout. Boyd falls to 5-9 on the year. |

It might have been a quality start, but it wasn't a "quality start". (you need 6 innings to qualify for the official stat). |
