Not sure after CSU that we can expect to stomp anyone... even at home. Minny WON... overcoming the crap of last season... lots of youth... new coach... new schemes... 1st hype/ jitters... style points don't matter... they won. Pretty impressive to me. The most important aspect come 9/9 may be Minny is a must Win with what OSU faces after that. I don't mean to be a jerk(proceeds to be a jerk) but to me this sentiment is part of the problem with our program. We should never be impressed with a squeak it out victory over Buffalo. Minnesota looked like a plain bad football team. No one ever would be "impressed"... BUT a bad "WIN" is far better than a good "loss". A win for a team in Minny's position was huge. The CSU game under this staff was equally huge... above average team on the road. A win there could have shifted team mentality dramatically. Fan sentiment means little when the ball actually kicks off, but player sentiment does. Minny players could care less who they played or what the scores was. OSU players are doubting what's going on... it's just the nature of the beast if you're competitive and get your arse handed to you. There can be public "bravado", but when push comes to shove athlete's (team sport athletes especially) need to feel the "after glow" of winning. The individual player successes are nice for fans, maybe even privately (should be private) for players in losses, BUT W's are why they keep score. W's get you more recognition and to a bowl game... any bowl game will do as you build a program. This program... talking the young men on the field... needs W's in the worst way.

Indiana played them tough at home in 2015 losing 27-34. Lots of subplots. Indiana's HC from the past 5 years resigned last December after player abuse allegations surfaced and a month later he was named tOSU's OC. If the allegations were true maybe Indiana players will have a little added incentive. Tulsa at Ok State could be an even better match up. Wouldn't surprise if Tulsa was able to pull off a win. Every team has questions entering a season. But there’s a sense among the Buckeyes that they’re ready to unveil what they expect to be a special team.
“I like our team,” Meyer said. “I like where we’re at.” (from an article in the Columbus Dispatch)
Wouldn't it be nice to start a year with a coach confident in where the team is at? I'm sure Indiana is going to do their best to make it interesting, Ohio State is too well-rounded and the Buckeyes are playing for pride after last year's loss. I expect them to cover that 20 point spread, but then I am partial. Go Bucks! For God's sake Urban. Never end a sentence with a preposition. It's, "I like where we are." Not, "I like where we’re at." Teacher of men, my ass.
