For me, I want to see a shutout on defense. On offense, I want to see balance and a plan that exploits what the defense gives them.
Of course I can want in one hand and............ But I need to see some real improvements so I can start building expectations for Minny and the Pac again.
Go Beavs!!

No turnovers. Control the LOS on both sides.

There are ~4 possible scenarios: 1) The Beavers put it all together, and romp to the tune of 70-0. While I would love to see this, and it would give me great hope for the season, from what I heard of the PSU-BYU game, I don't think PSU is going to roll over and play dead to the tune of 70-0, and I didn't see enough at CSU to feel we were on the cusp of such a performance. 2) The Beavers limit mistakes, control the LOS, get the ball to our playmakers, and Luton shows the leadership and promise that the coaches want to see from him, and we win 35-10 or 45-7. This would also be a good outcome, probably more likely, and would give me hope for the rest of the season in general and the Minnesota game in particular. 3) Beavers win on a last second FG or TD!!! While exciting and entertaining, I am filled with foreboding for the rest of the season and see more of those grey hairs that come from being a Beaver fan emerge on my head. I am unable to locate any more Tums in my home. 4) Sac State / EWU / Montana / <name your nightmare here> - the board is flooded with Mike Riley reminiscing, and pitchforks sell out in the Willamette Valley. I count the days until WBB starts so I can enjoy a well-coached Beaver team. I consider this possibility to have low likelihood......just because by my quick count, there are a lot of days until WBB season starts.
I hope to see #2, I would re-watch the game repeatedly on DVR should I get to see #1.
Go Beavers!!! Get the W! <please>

Nothing... PSU is PSU. A close win, a big win will mean little to me. No injuries is a bigger concern going into Minny.
Minny is the game that I need to see vast improvement. By the way, how in the hell can players not be in game shape? Why in the hell would you publicly admit it?
With the CSU loss I personally see no chance at 6 wins. But, a very good performance vs Minny that showed the CSU game a bit of a fluke could get me doing a schedule "what if'ing".
Of course a loss to PSU should be enough to check out an interim coach and get a early start on a coaching search! Ok... not going to happen, but...

Easy. I want to see 60 minutes of football from our side, winning or losing.
I want evidence that our coaches have the kids playing their hearts out the whole game. Not sure we did so last week. And I know we didn't play that way CGA's first year.
If I had my druthers, I'd also be able to see smart pass plays, including one or two deep passes, reinstatement of the fly sweep, and some two back sets. I get it that we need to tune up our passing game if we are gonna compete in the Pac 12, so I'm ok with seeing more passing plays than running plays. But this is an exception. On the other side of the ball, I'd like to see the D contain the offense with good positioning and clean tackling.
Naturally, we need more takeaways than giveaways. But none if means anything if our coach can't get these boys to play for the full 60 minutes.

I want to see the DL play like a FBS DL. I want to see the D keep contain. Last week, the O played well enough to win even with the mistakes and the zees taking a net four points away. This L was all on the D.

CGA wearing his big boys pants at the post-game presser and showing some class. whaaaaa? Come on, I love seeing our coach attack, arguably, our best defender for telling the truth and telling him to "look in the mirror and get his own ass ready to play" when he was your second leading tackler on the game and one of the very few that balled out for 4 quarters. I am hoping we are not looking back at that and pinpointing it as the exact moment Gary lost his team at the end of the season. As for PSU. we need to see what we expect. a Team that is better on the OL, better on the DL. We should be able to run at will, with an average at 5 YPC or more. Luton should have ample time in the pocket on 95% of his drop backs. We should have quick pressure on the PSU QB and they should not be able to run at will, should rush for under 100 on the game and 3 YPC or less. That is my expectation of how a D-1 team should handle an FCS team. You see it on the line. If PSU is getting pressure early and causing us fits, it is gonna be a long, long season.

Would like to see:
solid tackling technique, especially in space
a defense that is where it's supposed to be on every play and in position to make the play
0 turnovers on offense
No more read option with a QB who won't be able to run effectively when we get into conference play.
Leadership and cohesiveness
Seth Collins back(has he been cleared?) and no new injuries

Offensive line making holes that even I can run through
Sacks
A blitz?
Something from the return game would be a bonus
In the end, I just want it to be decisive and stress-free so that we go into Minnesota game looking like we at least have our sh!t together at some rudimentary level.

Related - I didn't notice a cast or wrap on his hand when they showed him briefly on the sideline last week, so perhaps he's close.
