I came across a number of Kat Tudor long-range videos on Twitter. Tudor's ability to stretch the opposing defenses will be critical to the Beavers' quest to replace the offense lost to the departures of Wiese, Brown, Orum, and Hanson.
Tudor finished 7th in the PAC-12 in three-point field goal accuracy as a freshman last season at 41.2% (see Top Ten list below).
Can we come up with a clever nickname for the lone-range bomber? One that she may actually like?

She has a very nice shot, seldom brings the ball down below where she caught it. The start of a very quick release. Her motion is also very consistent and leads to her accuracy. I think she is going to get significant playing time this year, enough to allow her to get comfortable. That will lead to even more consistency and a higher percentage of made 3's. With more playing time we should get to see her mid-range shot. I hope her intensity on the court leads to some strong drives to the basket and that she can finish.
Her defense improved dramatically last year, she is strong enough to play physical and she has good length with her height and especially long arms.

Spot on bib....Everyone with eyes to see knows that Kat has the makings of a great 3 point shooter....
Those of you who have coached know that one of the easiest tasks is to shut down a 3-point shooter who can't blow by a defender when he chests up. A shooter who can't penetrate off the dribble is to basketball what a pocket passer who can't run is to football. Two-thirds of a threat but not a complete threat.
When Kat learns to beat her defender off the dribble (as of now she cannot) she is going to be a treat. An absolute treat.
I really look forward to following her career. So does SR - a great deal rides on her ability to master this phase of her offensive game -- she is still learning. By Christmas we should know.... None of the really good players learn it in their 3rd year...With great predictability the good ones have got it by the 2nd year.
GO BEAVS !!

There is one reason and one reason only she did not get more PT... her team defense. She is decent on-ball, but had little court awareness on getting to the "wall" and being in help side position. Het weak side rebounding was also below par. With Scott she'll have to be a solid team defender or minutes will be tough to come by.

A couple of nickname possibilities: Three Point Kat and Kat-Ching. Geez, I don't even like them. Never mind.
It has been a long time since I have logged on here. I have, however, been reading posts everyday and I say thank-you to all who have provided insight, perspective, and analysis.
Early November still seems like such a long time to wait, but we all know it will be here before we know it. Can't wait to see the ladies in action.
Go Beavs!

I do like Kat-Ching a bit as a potential nickname, although Babs in her post above seemed to want to take it back. Perhaps Ron Callan can weave "Kat-Ching" in to his audio broadcasts on occasion when Kat is launching and hitting threes during the upcoming season. I was thinking perhaps the "Stockton Sniper." However, that may not be very politically-correct at this time.

I also like Hawkeye's "Tudor the Shooter".

It does not quite work, but I was thinking Threedor as she picks door number 3. Maybe someone can improve this to make it usable.
