I re-listened to it, and I'm even more astounded at how many times he took shots at Crawford for the innocuous comment of "we didn't come out ready to play." He was like a dog with a bone on that one. Other things that bother me:
Have you ever heard a press conference where he says he HAS looked at the tape?
I chuckled when he mentioned a bunch of kids by number, but he sure knew the name of the of honorable mention All Big Sky lineman transfer from Utah State.
At one point he mentioned how much he loved playing FCS schools because of the opportunities it gave the FCS schools, which is great if - you know - you're the coach of the FCS school.
Also, he mentioned he "didn't like" the success PSU had in the past against Oregon State. OSU has played PSU 4 times, going 4-0 and winning 51-14, 41-14, 34-7, and 29-14. Average score: 39-12.
Another one of his favorite things to say: "Anyone who watched the tape or knows anything about football knows....." He used this in reference to the fact that it was a closer game than the score indicated. I don't care what the tape said. The tape said that you were down 10 with 12 minutes to go in the game. From there it was 21 points, 152 yards, 8 minutes and change possession time for CSU and 0 points, 48 yards, two turnovers and about 3:30 possession for OSU. There was no grit, no fight, no want to, no care factor, no other cliche you want to throw out there in the last quarter. None.
It's really hard to hear "no excuses" and then hear him rattle off the "hostile environment, 117 degree turf....." stuff.
