I don't want to start over with a new coach, and just like the basketball program for YEARS, why fire someone when you don't know who to hire yet? But four wins all year might change my mind. Jeff Tedford? Rocky Long? Kalani Sitake? Norm Chow? Chip Kelly? Mark Banker? I don't think that we are there yet, but we are a lot closer than I thought we were. CGA needs to show us that things are under control over the next couple of weeks, or we need to make a change to make sure that things don't spiral. Oooh, this will be fun. How about More Kilometers? (Les Miles) Chip Kelley after the Tyner thing would be worth a serious amount of entertainment! Rocky Long a strong #2.

I have been observing quietly for the past three years (have been a Beaver football fan for over 60 years). My conclusions about Coach Anderson and his program are:
(1) He is an "average" recruiter. Which given the disadvantages of Corvallis equates to having "below average" PAC 12 talent. I see little reasons to believe that this will change.
(2) He may be a good organizer and a good administrator but I believe he is well "below" average in terms of having a creative, talented football "mind". Coach Riley had many faults but he had an offense that was well thought out, well planned and based on a clear set of fundamental concepts(pro-set, drop back passer, lots of medium and long passing routes to stretch the field, etc.)
Coach Anderson seems to have something he calls "spread offense" which seems to consist of a different offensive coordinator every year, a random selection at the quarterback position, and after three years the only consistency is inconsistency.
(3) In the two areas-strong offensive line and defensive line- that I believe would give OSU the best chance to move up in the PAC 12, Coach Anderson's ability to recruit and coach have been the most lacking.
(4) My prediction for this years team is two wins (hope I am wrong)

Chip Kelly wouldn't give us the time of day! Whittingham? I don't think we have the budget to lure him out of Utah. He may not see eye to eye with his AD but he's got a pretty darn good thing going there in Salt Lake. Are you kidding me? If we're to the point of looking for our next coach after this year then our program is now officially even less attractive then it was prior to CGA. As much as I hate to admit it, it's the ugly reality. I think we should look for a "proven" up-and-comer. First guy that comes to mind is Eastern Washington's old head coach. Can't remember his name, didn't he leave recently to become OC somewhere? Maybe Cal? Would love to see Niner be the savior but something just doesn't seem like he's a safe bet quite yet. I'm looking for a head coach at a mid major or a FCS school that has already proven that he can win, and win over multiple seasons, not just one or two like CGA did at Utah St. We need to find the next Scott Rueck but for football!! And good lord, don't recycle anyone that's already been here, i.e. Riley, god forbid Banker. No again!
Go Beavs!

Chip Kelly wouldn't take $2.75 million next year? That is a lot of money to turn down. Beau Baldwin might be a great hire. He certainly has shown that he can coach up an offense. Maybe he could hire Banker to coach the D.

Will Gary Anderson win an away game during his tenure as OSU coach? That depends on if we ever hire someone named Gary Anderson. Last I checked we didn't have any coaches who had that name.

I feel like some of y'all are just browsing comments looking for an excuse to make someone feel dumb. Well done guys.

I feel like some of y'all are just browsing comments looking for an excuse to make someone feel dumb. Well done guys. I just think it's absurd that it's year 3 and people still can't spell Andersen. It wasn't just a typo because he wrote it in other places. If you are a real Beaver fan and not just a troll, you will learn how to spell our head coaches last name. But I could just be getting that from reading the Oregonlive comments too often (which lower my IQ) where it is just *uck trolls trying to make fun of the Beavers and misspelling Andersen because they don't actually know anything.

Anderson is the English variant of Andersen in Denmark/Norway and Andersson in Sweden. By standard English pronunciation, it should be rendered Anderson, but CGA goes with with the Danish/Norse spelling. That does not make Anderson wrong, any more than the other Anderson's spell their name "wrong." Anderson is merely a different spelling of the same name, Andersen. It should be pointed out that Andersen is in-and-of itself a misnomer, as Gary's father was Gordon. Using standard Danish/Norse naming conventions, Gary's surname should be Gordonsen, not Andersen. Only the most annoying troll would point out that an error, which is not an error, is in fact, an error.

Baldwin or Niner?

Given the choice between Baldwin and Niner, I'd probably take Baldwin today. If he could hire on Niner as associate HC that'd be a bonus.

I thought it was out of people not knowing how to spell our coaches last name, not that either one works. I usually just lurk because I enjoy reading posts from a lot of people here and learn more about the Beavers from this forum, but I was tired of people spelling it Anderson because I thought that was wrong, but I was mistaken.

I feel like some of y'all are just browsing comments looking for an excuse to make someone feel dumb. Well done guys. A typo is when you hit the wrong key(s) by mistake, leave out a letter (or full word), repeat a word twice back-to-back, or somehow type a different word than originally intended (brain thinks one word and fingers type a different word). Misspelling a name isn't a typo. Especially when done repeatedly. Geez, would you like to point out that the cat isn't actually typing in the picture as well?

Per me (not that my opinion counts for anything). Three wins or less and Matt Hayes could be right. Four wins who knows. Anything more and the job is safe for a year or two.
I still think any hire should get 4 years unless they are a disaster. I can't go there yet- academics are improving, only three penalties (assuming the poster who first said that was correct) in the first game, nowhere near enough games this season to tell if there has been improvement or not. It'll be interesting to see how the season plays out.
