Found some more abhorrent lyrics:
Gold Coast slave ship bound for cotton fields Sold in the market down in New Orleans Scarred old slaver knows he's doin' all right Hear him whip the women just around midnight Brown Sugar, how come you taste so good Brown Sugar, just like a young girl should Drums beatin' cold, English blood runs hot Lady of the house wonderin' when it's gonna stop House boy knows that he's doin' all right You should have heard him just around midnight Brown Sugar, how come you taste so good Brown Sugar, just like a young girl should Brown Sugar, how come you dance so good Brown Sugar, just like a black girl should I bet your mama was a Cajun Queen, And all her boyfriends were sweet sixteen
Oh my bad. That was The Rolling Stones. Can't believe this crap old people used to listen to.

As if they're not exposed to it every day. Bwahaaahaha! I always love that lame argument - so let me get this straight - if a little bit of poison is bad, a lot is ok, because, well, I already was exposed - or, you were just exposed to radiation - so, what the hell! Bring on the nukes!

OK, continuing on with us old farts lyrics, here is another cutie from the Rolling Stones. Start it up Love the day when we will never stop, never stop Never stop, never stop Tough me up Never stop, never stop, never stop You, you, you make a grown man cry You, you make a dead man cum You, you make a dead man cum ? How do you explain that to your grand daughter? I once played in a blues band that played that song because that line turned on the lead guitar player. Not why I would pick songs to cover. BTW, like a number of Stones songs, the opening riff to that song gets people on their feet dancing almost immediately.

Ha Ha - not a critic, just pointing out that one of the endearing qualities I believe MR had while our head coach, and during his entire professional life, has been he did not need to resort to vulgarity to get the job done. I have always appreciated that about him. Kinda like the old expression "Instead of raising your voice, maybe you should improve your argument".
Look, if you are OK with MR sending the team to this concert - good for you. Me? If I was a booster, I would want my HC to refrain from sending players to a concert where the singer belts out words that would get anyone else in our culture shouted down or shamed for being a racist or sexist. One might argue that sending them to the concert funded by the athletic department is indirect tacit approval of the lyrics, or the performer.
Try these lyrics on for size (from a song titled "Humble"):
Who dat nigga thinking that he fronting on man man (man man) Get the f@ck off my stage, I'm the sandman (sandman) Get the f@ck off my dick, that ain't right I make a play f%#*ing up your whole life I'm so f@cking sick and tired of the Photoshop Show me something natural like afro on Richard Pryor Show me something natural like ass with some stretch marks Still will take you down right on your mamma's couch in polo socks, aye
Hey, if you are OK with an institution you give good money to indirectly supporting this trash by buying the whole team tickets - go for it. Color me not impressed.

Kendrick Lamar is currently the hottest rapper out there. Players are thankful for a break and ticks. And it's pretty smart actually. And it may be a good recruiting move, also. Mike Riley gets it. I think some Nebby fans may not like or know rap, but, they definitely support what MR did. forum.huskermax.com/index.php?threads/kendrick-lamar-concert.97105/

How do we have 2 pages of this wonderful OSU Beaver Football related info? Mediocre Mike's posse, that's how. The way things have evolved here, we may be begging for "Mediocre Mike's" on-field results - even the last couple of seasons that he was here. The tendency for a few pro-Riley Beaver fans to jump on Andersen and compare him unfavorably to Mike is unfair and weak, but the tendency for anti-Riley people (like you) to always relish an opportunity to rip on him is every bit as weak and pathetic. To dwell on anyone's weaknesses, especially someone who did so much for your University and football program smacks of incredible immaturity and the inability to move ahead. Life must be one big perpetual turdfest for you, man!

Man, you seem very angry, relax this isn't anything to get your panties all in a wad.

Not angry at all, just thankful. I also recognize that everyone comes to these boards for different reasons. I'm a "sunshine and lollipops" kind of guy, so my motivation is to come here with orange-colored glasses and find the upside in everything Beavs. My myopic approach isn't any more right than anyone else's angle, but it's my approach! No wadded panties here!

This is one of the dumbest threads ever.
Team gets tickets to a concert - cool Poster gives credit to coach - probably not his idea. I highly doubt Mike Riley was like "you know what, Kendrick Lamar is in town....we should give the team the day off and let them go to the concert!" Granted, Mike Riley probably had to approve it, so we'll give him very minimal credit. Another poster decides to find the most offensive lyrics from a Kendrick Lamar song that he could find as some sort of dig at Mike Riley, I guess This sets off a bunch of "we didn't listen to this crap in my day" nonsense that is untrue of every generation ever. Every generation of teens/young adults pushes the limit of what is socially acceptable at the time - this is not new.
Also, I really love how any reference to Mike Riley elicits "here we go again" comments....and also twenty pages of dialogue. Clearly this is what we all want to talk about, but hey, keep denying it fellas (and ladies).
