This is an excerpt from an Olive interview with Tinkle. I thought it was very interesting and kind of in line with what people thought when Drew declared for the draft.
Tinkle expressed some frustration that agents had not reached out to him or his staff about players and instead chose to go to parents. During the draft process, Drew Eubanks’ father, David, said six agents contacted him over the past year.
“If they go right to the parents, they’re going to get these parents all excited and convince them that they’re going to be the No. 1 pick in the draft when they’re not even on anybody’s draft board. Hopefully moving forward we’ve all learned from that. It’s a good thing. If we’ve got the NBA attracted to our players, that means we’re moving the program in the right direction.”
Also thought this was a great quote. I know there was a lot of concern that Drew would be too focused on improving his outside game to prepare for the NBA rather than banging and getting rebounds like OSU needs him to.
Tinkle credited Eubanks for coming back with open ears and working hard. “We want him to lead the league in rebounding, we want him to defend the paint, we want him to run the floor. … The reason Jordan Bell got drafted wasn’t because he scored 25 points a game and showed that he could hit threes. It’s because he blocked shots and rebounded.”

Hopefully the parents bring coach in on the discussions early so we don't have any bad surprises....Looking forward to Eubanks really tearing it up this year!

The point about Jordan Bell is a very good one. If Eubanks is going to ever make the NBA, that's how it's going to happen.

I am never surprised at what agents will do - it is their job to find the meal ticket that keeps them in silk suits and no one wants to see "how the sausage is made". I am glad Drew came back - he is almost impossible to guard one on one around the basket, and with a full squad around him he has a double/double average to look forward to and is going to surprise a lot of people not familiar with OSU after this past dismal season.
