Shoo ...shoe...it doesn't matter. Moore needs more seasoning. As far as Tyler Smith - congrats on the opportunity to continue pursuing your dream!....life is fleeting and even a taste of the brass ring is better than the alternative.

Smith is being DFA'd in favor of Cody Martin. DFA means that the Mariners are removing Smith from the 40-man roster. But he is not necessarily subject to waivers. A player who is DFA'd must be put back on the 40-man roster within 40 days, placed on waivers, traded or released. The timing, however, makes waivers the most likely outcome. I think you meant 10 days, not 40 days. SaveSaveGot me. I wrote 40-man roster one time too many. |

I'm assuming TS gets assigned to AAA Round Rock. The guy currently getting playing time at 2B for the Rangers AAA club is real life Crash Davis: 37 year old Doug Bernier. In his 10th season at AAA with a couple stints in the majors. So I'd say Smith presents an upgrade in the "prospect" department. |

Just got a little more crowded for Smith. Rangers just received Willie Calhoun (Dodgers #4 prospect) in the package for Darvish. Calhoun is a 2B, but not exactly a plus defender. He can rake though.

Smith is already off of the 40-man roster for the Rangers. Yesterday, they started Smith at 2B and Calhoun at LF in the Omaha-Round Rock AAA game. |

And right back down on the 19th. Still on the 40-man roster. In other news, Joey Wong was just called up to AAA and hit the game-winner yesterday for Tacoma. Gaviglio pitched 5, allowing 1 earned with six strikeouts and no walks. Gaviglio, Moore, and Wong together in Tacoma. |
