If Twitter sources are accurate (and when aren't they? ), the Beavs are one of 14 Division 1 schools to already verbally offer 6'0" shooting guard Sasha Goforth, a Class of 2020 (rising sophomore) from Fayetteville HS in Fayetteville, Arkansas, located deep in the heart of SEC country. Goforth helped lead her high school team to the Arkansas 7A state title in March '17 and was named state tourney MVP and Class 7A First Team All-State in the process as a freshman. www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/228883

Looks like a great prospect. Isn't UW's old HC Neighbors now at U Arkansas?

The Beavs also offered Kemery Martin (class of 2019) out of Sandy Utah......5'11" guard who gets a lot of impressive press from the Utah sports media....I woul keep my eyes peeled on any future developments with Kemery. Her older sister is a premier player as well, but most stories that I read is that Kemery is the higher rated prospect of the two....She was 1st team all state as a Soph - one of the writers said she was arguably the best player in the state.(As a sophomore!) At any rate, it's a long ways down the road, but a 5'11" guard who is considered the best player in Utah as a sophomore gets my interest in a hurry.
The Arkansas offer (Goforth) - unless coach R has a personal connection to this prospect this seems like a reachers reach. But no matter how you slice it, Coach R is chasing some top of the line talent. Very impressive. GO BEAVS.

I agree that obtaining a verbal commitment during the next two-plus years from Sasha Goforth would be surprising and a tremendous recruiting coup for the Beavs, given that she plays in the same city in which the University of Arkansas is located. My guess is that Arkansas head coach Mike Neighbors will be treating the recruiting of Goforth as a top priority in an attempt to keep her home. However, Rueck and his staff were successful in obtaining a commitment from Mikayla Pivec in 2015 when it appeared that the local school (Washington) was in a great position to sign her. I had not heard about Kemery Martin from Utah until your post above. Thanks for the info. Her MaxPreps stat line from the '16-'17 high school season is accessible below. MaxPreps reports that Martin averaged 15.3 points, 5.9 boards, and 3.3 steals per game as a sophomore. News about the OSU verbal offer was also noted in Martin's retweet below. www.maxpreps.com/athlete/kemery-martin/KdhawIx7EeW-8KA2nzwbTA/default.htm
