I noticed a mention of Patricia Morris and her team competing in some kind of summer tourney somewhere. Anybody have info to share on how her team is dong in summer competition; how she is doing in summer competition.
I think the doldrums are bringing on irrational cravings for ANY WBB news.
But, like many who follow Bernice's Place, I'm intrigued by the possibilities that Patricia Morris brings to OSU basketball.
Most of us don't know if Patricia is a diamond in the rough, a long term project, a can't-miss prospect, or a who knows just wait and see.
So, if there is news about how she is showing her game this summer it might be a glimpse into what kind of game she brings t the Beavs.....
Thanks. Any news on PM (or Andrea Aquino's) summer bb is appreciated.

Here is a bit about what our 2018 post players are up to. I've never heard of this organization before but after doing some reading up on them it sounds like they have the same ideas/values that the beavers do. Great girls who are great students.

Not sure if this 17U team is the one with Patricia on it or not, but here are some results from the 2017 Arizona Summer Elite Classic that the Wil2Win web site (lots of pictures there with Morris in them) that believeinthebeavs said the team would participate in: basketball.exposureevents.com/75684/2017-arizona-elite-summer-classic-ncaa-certified/teams/wil2win-17u?divisionteamid=563346No box scores that I could find..... Don't know if AA had joined the team by that point. It will be pretty beneficial for AA and PM to be on the same team, though I don't know if they will play in a twin towers approach that would have them on the court at the same time. Go Beavers!

I was not able to learn much of substance from the Wil2Win website. It looks like Patricia Morris' father is the coach. Or perhaps it is an uncle?
That AA has signed on with Wil2Win indicates some kind of connection with Beaver Basketball. I am interested in learning more when someone comes across new information.
However, the fact that a high profile signee (AA) travels across the country, signs up to attend an upscale (expensive) private school, then joins the same club team of another OSU signee, is interesting, to say the least. Knowing coach R it is all above board - but any fan with even a sliver of curiosity might ask himself how AA travels across country, enrols in an expensive school, and then immediately hooks up with a future teammate.
Kinda thinking out loud here, but there are several stories that will eventually be told in this scenario !!

Many private schools, including Ribet Academy, have a scholarship/tuition assistance program. I would assume that AA would be qualified to receive it. In exchange the institution receives a tax break, or the one I worked for did. They also look at it as potential positive public relations, if AA goes on to OSU and does well then everybody will know that she went to Ribet. If she is able to go on professionally then it just continues to receive publicity.
I believe that AA and PM maintained contact after their shared visit to OSU over mother's day weekend. It is not a far stretch to imagine that PM is one of the main reasons AA ended up in SoCal. Wil2win sounds like a program that wants to develop the person as much as the player, something they have in common with the beavs. I wish there was more info available but I was unsuccessful in finding it.
I personally think it is a great thing that AA and PM are working together on at least one team. Having each other to practice against is only going to make both of them better and learning each others tendencies will yield positive results when both are on the court playing for the same team.

Yes. Kevin Morris is Patricia's father and the head coach of the Wil2Win program. What may have taken place is that the Morris family may be the primary benefactors that have facilitated Andrea Aquino's relocation to the LA area. If so, what a wonderful happening that is for the two young posts as they transition together in their preparation for their collegiate journey in Corvallis. The joint official visit by Morris and Aquino to Corvallis in May appears to be the pivotal connection that is responsible for this positive development. Kudos to the Morris family for whatever role it may have played and continues to play in assisting Aquino during a time of great uncertainty. Getting Aquino away from New Jersey and into a better living and support situation on the west coast bodes well for allowing her to focus on preparing herself academically and physically for what OSU will require. www.insidesocal.com/tribpreps/2015/02/13/duartes-6-7-freshman-patricia-morris-helps-falcons-to-montview-league-title/
