In Kendall's narrative, it seems they may have had the MRI before drafting him, and then refused to make any offer. If they refused to make ANY offer, I don't think they could receive a compensation pick next year, and they seem to believe they are getting a pick next year. SaveSaveI have been piecing together this story based on what Baseball America and the Rays' beat writers have been writing. I agree with kerting that it would be illogical that they failed to make any offer. I think everyone's still trying to figure this out, because this is the first draft under the new CBA and the new top-50 pitcher rule. |
