Taylor Jones, a 6'3" rising junior from Dallas Christian HS in Mesquite, Texas, was on campus this week for an unofficial visit to OSU. Coach Rueck and assistant coach Katie Baker are shown with Jones in one of the photos below. ESPNW high school girls basketball evaluator Dan Olson offered the following evaluation of Jones during the 2016 USA Basketball age group trials: "Springy, athletic finesse-5 continues to impress; quick feet in paint with soft touch in the key; outstanding in transition; a stock-riser in the class of 2019." Prospects Nation rates Jones #13 overall in the Class of 2019. Jones averaged 22.1 points, 13.2 boards, and 4.1 blocked shots per game in 39 games during her sophomore year of high school. Texas high schools play a lot of games every school year. prospectsnation.com/players/ranked/2019www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/221002www.maxpreps.com/athlete/taylor-jones/hWB-t1iyEeW-8KA2nzwbTA/default.htm

Thanks for keeping us up to date on what is going on with possible recruits. I find encouragement in our ability to get these girls to visit our campus.

Thanks for keeping us posted beavershoopsfan.....I read somewhere that Taylor Jones has a 7'3" wingspan. If true, that's absolutely unheard of for a 6'3" female athlete.... But it would sure give Coach R & Co. a lot of raw material to work with.... Texas produces a bus load of top quality prep WBB players every year. Some escape the clutch of the State programs, but not too many. Jones looks like a real prospect. I can't even imagine how her height and arm length translates into MBB numbers....
Now if we can just get hold of a PAC 12 WBB schedule I can plan my winter holidays....Any rumours (or better yet, information) on the mystery WBB powerhouse the Beavs are hosting at Gill in November?

Now if we can just get hold of a PAC 12 WBB schedule I can plan my winter holidays....Any rumors (or better yet, information) on the mystery WBB powerhouse the Beavs are hosting at Gill in November? I believe that the WBB PAC-12 conference schedule is typically released after the team's non-conference schedule is announced. As for the mystery powerhouse that the Beavs hope to be hosting in non-conference play in '17, it is a reportedly a Midwest school and the game will take place on the weekend prior to Thanksgiving. Assuming that the foe is as originally rumored, it should be a packed Gill Coliseum for that game if both squads are undefeated in early season play up to that game. Like you, I am looking forward to confirmation and publication of the Beavers' non-conference schedule. If I receive or see confirmation in print that the team's schedule has been announced, I will quickly post it in this forum so that Beavs WBB fans can plan accordingly.

From the UConn WBB schedule site: "On Monday, the school announced the nonconference opponents that the Huskies will face during the regular season.
The teams are: Ohio State, California, Maryland, UCLA, Michigan State, Nevada, Notre Dame, DePaul, Oklahoma, Duquesne, Texas, South Carolina and Louisville."
Do you guys know something the UConn WBB website doesn't??

This twitter post from her father (I believe) says 7'2", but your point stands. I also liked the fact that Taylor is pictured dunking in one of the pictures as well..... OSU becomes Phi Slamma Jamma, women's edition? Go Beavers!

Do you guys know something the UConn WBB website doesn't?? It must have fallen through. That's who I heard they were close to getting. Not sure who else it would be now. Oklahoma and Michigan State are the other PK teams but I wouldn't call them powerhouses

The non-conference game contracts are still in the process of being finalized prior to an announcement being made of the opponents for the '17-'18 season. The non-conference schedule for the '16-'17 season was announced by the women's basketball program during the early fall in '16. I would expect the same or a bit earlier this time. Based upon what I have heard awaits the Beavs as a non-conference foe in Corvallis in mid-November, us fans will not be disappointed as the '17-'18 squad will be in for a significant test against a team that should be ranked in the Top 5 in all of the preseason polls. I think that our patience will be rewarded when the announcement can be made.

This is somewhat related to the scheduling discussion. About a year ago I was in the basketball practice facility and in one of the meeting rooms there was a white board with non conference opponents written on it (men's team). There was also another board that had recruit info listed. If I was inclined I could have actually had the inside scoop in the message board world.

On the face of it, it looks like you are trying to say something. If you are, why don't you just say it. If you're not, why bother?
