This guy didn't look out for the interests of the conference or the beavs by not calling for an investigation into the obviously dirty Umpire crew in the CWS.
Go LOOK AT THE FILM LARRY.

It's over and the results aren't going to change 2. Unless the SEC and ESPN are in charge of picking the umps, IMO these guys aren't going to see the field again in Omaha - this much national exposure for your inability to make calls is never good for your grade when they score you back at the home office (unless said home office is SEC/ESPN controlled.

This guy didn't look out for the interests of the conference or the beavs by not calling for an investigation into the obviously dirty Umpire crew in the CWS. Go LOOK AT THE FILM LARRY. This group of umpires was absolutely atrocious for a College World Series. The biggest problem other than just plain blown calls was the inconsistency. They were terrible. There was a strike called on an OSU player in the final game that was so bad if he were hitting from the other side of the plate, it would have hit him... These guys were terrible, having said that, we should have overcome it with some smart baseball and we did not do the job!

I agree on Larry Scott. How many times have we seen other conference commissioners plead their case or lobby for one of their schools football teams when it came to a BCS birth in the past.
Neither the coach or the school president can come out publicly and raise questions about umpires without looking like whiners or facing reprecussions. The commissioner on the other hand can and he should. At the very least he should be defending any/all of his schools, especially on the big stage when a National title is on the line if there's any question of unfairness. Call a press conference, raise questions that need raising, and send a message.
Isn't that what a P5 conference commissioner should be doing when one of his teams looks to be getting the short end of the stick. Or was he afraid to do that out of fear someone might call into question his own record when it comes to hiring competent officials?

No... true professionals don't whine, complain, cry sour grapes publicly. They take it behind close doors to the people that matter. They don't create a public firestorm to make their point. That's what fans and unprofessional types do. I'd bet Larry has made his feelings known and those who matter at the schools involved know that he supports them and the Pac12.

As a conference, we have won 25% (2/8) of the CWS titles during his tenure (started Jul 2009). I doubt he would get much sympathy from others. We will be back next year if we stay injury-free. No reason to upset the apple cart this year.
