#1 in all of the computers, except Sonny Moore's Computer Power Rankings. #3 in all of the human polls. I don't know how you can say that the #1 overall team in RPI, who averaged beating the #3 overall team in RPI by two runs a game should be ranked behind them in the final rankings, Dave. It's almost like all of the human pollsters know that RPI is crap.

Perfectly fair. The 2007 Beavs finished #1 in the polls because they won the national championship but they hardly had "the best season." I'm ok with the two finalists getting the top 2 spots because they earned it in the postseason. Looking forward to finishing #1 next year.

If it was the other way around and we weren't 2nd you'd be ok? Lol At that point in the season/ rankings.. #1 and 2 are pretty simple. The rest... who really cares. All the rest is crap for "stats guy" to piss and moan over. Head to head are what sports are all about.

The 2007 Oregon State Beavers had the most dominant College World Series run in the history of the tournament. Oregon State was dominant outside of conference. However, the Beavers face-planted in conference.

Some of my post is tongue-in-cheek, but, sometimes, when there is an asterisk associated with a game, the pollsters will take that into account. This is particularly true with how dominant Oregon State was in game 1 and how everyone said that Oregon State was #1 entering the College World Series. What is particularly galling with regards to the Coaches Poll is that Oregon State actually lost votes to TCU. Florida was unanimous number one. LSU was unanimous number two, but three coaches placed TCU in front of Oregon State. None of the other polls put up votes.

Only the trophy matters. The rest is conjecture and opinion. PS- in my opinion and maybe those three coaches, if there was a 3rd place game TCU wins based on on the end of our season/ pitching played out. But, again it's all meaningless drivel. Happy and safe 4th to all... stay away from those crowds and traffic... and hoist a glass (or several) to all this great country (no matter your current opinions) has allowed us to enjoy!
