Hope he's doing all right. If you see him, keep him away from the sharp objects!

All signs point to him being in a deep depression, like the rest of us really...
See what I did there?

It was a long trip home by car from Omaha and EugeneDave just left our house in Salem about an hour ago after watching Florida take down LSU.
Definitely not suicidal! LOL

I am here, back in Eugene. We drove 4000 miles the past 11 days, and I am tired tonight.
My thoughts on the outcome are really quite simple. We aren't going to win games getting 2 or 3 hits. This is true whether we play Portland, or LSU. Gotta be able to hit. I do not blame Luke, Jake, or Bryce. Neither do I blame the umpires, President Ray, Pat Casey, Nate Yeskie, the weather, etc. Our offense sucked, and we got beat. And yes, it is that simple. Still not sure if LSU's pitching was that great, but we sure made it look great.

I don't keep track or care to, but with all the whining, blaming, conspiracy theories, sore loser sour grapes posts yours is truly welcome. Maybe with the respect you have on here combined with how big of fan you are it will quell the amount of the "other" posts.

After the game Saturday, I spoke to a number of LSU fans on my way back to the car. I shook their hand, doffed my orange hair cap, and told them they were a worthy opponent. And without the least bit of bitterness, I told them I felt we had just gotten beaten by a better team. Why can't we admit that, instead of looking for scapegoats? Those last two games, LSU was clearly the better team. Saying that does not diminish what our guys accomplished, they were fantastic. But the sour grapes makes our fan base look weak and petty. Come on Beaver Nation. Suck it up and get on with life. We had one hell of a ride this season, and now it's over. But nobody can take away the memories that I have. They will last forever.

But nobody can take away the memories that I have. They will last forever. 12 days sharing a no tell motel room with Roy the Corruptor will do that.

Some third world countries do not subject their prisoners to such a cruel and unusual punishment. But it has made me a stronger person. And Roy is fun to be with 99% of the time. That other 1% is a doozy. And I'm sure he'd say the same thing about me.

In Saturdays game you can't hit what you can't reach. Now, the Beavers would have had to score 7 runs to win but with that strike zone they had no chance. Like I have posted in other threads, I think the Beavers win fridays game if the umpire didn't miss the call. Lange got better after getting out of the jam in that inning. He got all of the momentum he needed getting out of that inning. I just disagree on the premise that the umpires didn't have an affect on the games. Would it have changed the outcome? We will never know for sure. Also Casey didn't complain about the umpiring. Casey is all class and would never comment publicly on the umpiring. Privately might be different.

But nobody can take away the memories that I have. They will last forever. I think everybody here is adult enough to accept a loss (or two) if the playing field is level. The two games vs LSU clearly had their 'un level' times. I think the is mostly what people like me have an issue with. SPORTS HAPPEN... there is no such thing as a "level" playing field. I'm going to assume you played some sort of competitive sport(s)?? If you have you'd know super competitive and successful athletes do not harp on such nonsense. Not only does it do absolutely no good, it takes away from their primary drive to be successful, the intrinsic motivation to become better, to help their team get better. Every person on OSU's staff and team let the crap spouted on this board go within the 1st 60 min and started searching within how to get better and overcome ALL obstacles. They did not dwell, but those around them certainly may. Disappointed? Yep. Playing the victim card? NO EFFING way. Every team, in every sport, vying for any championship endures injuries, scandal, poor play, poor decisions, bad breaks, poor calls... sometimes all of it as it appeared faced OSU this season. The point... it happens ALL THE TIME. It is in the nature of sport, because it is played by, coached by, officiated by, administered by human beings and all their faults. It was mentioned by multiple posters over the course of the season, "... it's baseball...", your record insures you ZERO other then getting into the post season... or not. And, if you are lucky enough to overcome any of the aforementioned travails, they are just as prevalent and magnified in the post season. OSU had a season/record that will never be duplicate. OSU made it to the 'final four' in the CWS. They LOST. NO excuses, they were not the better team those two days. Clean up the "spill" and get over it.
