You get a guy who throws heat and can do it for strikes. Patience, baby. Yep, first pitch is a heater down the pipe. You can do a Kwan and square and take, or just plain take like everyone else did. 0-1. Now, I can work the edges. Say I hit one of the next two. 1-2. Now I own you. You have to protect. You become a defensive batter., You have to go at any POS i put in the vicinity. Particularly with some of the plate umpires we've seen lately. Sometimes you just have to be aggressive. Best pitches you see are the first one, and 3-0. Make 'em pay for coming in fat.

LSU pitching coach Alan Dunn is a questionable character at time

Oregon State has players with green lights on first pitch, Harrison, Madrigal and anybody Who is seeing the ball and swinging a good bat at the time. The zone may be compeesssed don't hit a pitchers strike and be a first pitch weak ground out but certainly some guys have green light.

I love the science of hitting. If you gamble knowing a pitcher is going to bring a first pitch strike(especially a fast ball) and jump on it you better square up a few to make the pitcher a little gun shy but if you don't the pitcher gets more confidence and starts taking his own chances and throws second and third pitches in his arsenal to get ahead. Fun to watch. I don't really know what I'm talking about but it's fun to think about 😀

Have to hit that ball in the other batter's box with this clown today. I think that the zone hurt Oregon State today. It bailed out LSU, who did not have the arms, and it killed Oregon State, who know where the strike zone is and laid off garbage that wound up being called strikes. It eliminated two Beaver advantages. Basically made it dumb baseball.
