Or at least their 1b and got beat. Come on, that happens. That is a talented group over there with their backs against the wall.
As I understand it he is one of their all-time greats...no shame in this folks. Plus their closer was a filthy mess out there. Papelbon in his hay day.
We are much, much better prepped for tomorrow arms wise. It will be a beauty and this game is already a lost memory

LSU has numerous arms who have gotten their feet wet in CWS action. They have a lights out closer. It's a push at best.

Push at best? They are down 3 starters. We saw the entire rest of the staff on Monday and squared up all of them.

Their arms may have experience, but one of those experiences is with us on Monday. We have proven we can get to them.. We have Rass and Mull on full rest for starters. With a full complement of rested arms available. If you think our pens are at least a wash, then it is a given our pitching situation is better than theirs based on Rass LM.

I agree. Complete wildcards on the bump for both teams tomorrow. No idea what we're gonna get.
I don't think pitching will be the key, it will be our hitting. Need to come out with a fire in our belly to score early and often.
GO BEAVS!

Pitching and defense wins it... and at this point, they are down pitching and we have a better defense.
No doubt they are a very good team.... and if they still had their #2 guy, then I would say it's a push. We still have the edge!

How anyone thinks Razz is a dependable CWS starter with his very limited innings is looking thru very orange glasses. Monday was a train wreck... not typical for our bats or their arms. We have two starters and what 3 others that have seen the mound. In a losers out game in the CWS that is a big deal. This is all about the bats... we were dominated today. Lange was good but we made him look far superior than he was.

We have both inning pitchers and situational guys. We are also not known for losing twice in a row. I like being visitors tomorrow, get out early and put some pressure on them.

More out of Ras would be great but unexpected. Fehmel is back on major league "full" rest. Mulholland could give you six strong, if absolutely necessary. Britton could go, as well. Plate discipline was atrocious today. Lange never looked rattled.

They've seen Fehmel... relief only. Mullholland is Fehmel from the left side.
If Razz doesn't start something is up. I don't think he'll go much more than 60 pitches. But, I don't think it matters who starts as it will be every able body.
Personally with all the lefty bats and trouble with plate discipline vs off speed nibblers I'd go:
Mullholland... Razz... staff by matchup

Oregon State can come back with someone to chew up an inning or two. And then, the Beavers can close with Ras in the eighth or ninth. If Ras goes two innings or less, he could be back for a Tuesday start. If Mulholland gets in trouble early, pull him and bring in Ras for long relief. Then, after the Tigers adjust, hit them with a horde of southpaws. Ras would then be available to close on Wednesday. You would probably be looking at a Britton start on Tuesday then, though, with Thompson to start on Wednesday, if needed.

Guys hitting 96 as 19 year olds don't throw 50 plus pitches effectively in the course of two days
