So either Kelley isn't under scholarship, someone else is leaving, or a coach is willing to pay for their son's tuition.

Kylor Kelley is not a walkon: "He also has committed to an awaiting scholarship offer from the Oregon State Beavers should he get it done by the end of the summer term, choosing the in-state Pac-12 program over growing interest from Pepperdine and Washington State" And why would he have chosen walk-on status if he had interest from those other D1 schools? WSU could REALLY use him right now. He'll be on scholly. Kelley has Scholarhip Offer

Do we in theory have 3 spots left if N'Diaye leaves and the coaches pay their kid's way? Does the NCAA have a season or multi-season limit?

Do we in theory have 3 spots left if N'Diaye leaves and the coaches pay their kid's way? Does the NCAA have a season or multi-season limit? By my count, we've filled all 13 allowed scholarship slots and my understanding is that we are only allowed 15 on the traveling rosters... so the two walk-on's we have fill up slots 14 and 15. I don't see how we can take any more unless we drop someone from scholarship and have one (or both) current walk-on's not travel. 1) Gligorije Rakocevic 2) Drew Eubanks 3) Kendal Manuel 4) Jaquori McLaughlin 5) Stephen Thompson Jr. 6) Ronnie Stacy 7) Ben Kone 8) Tres Tinkle 9) Seth Berger 10) Zach Reichle 11) Ethan Thompson 12) Alfred Hollins 13) Kylor Kelley Xavier Smith (walk-on) Isaac Barnes (walk-on)

I didn't think about the 15 on the traveling roster. By my reckoning the Thompsons and Tres could in theory drop their scholarships any time they wanted to make room for a potential scholarship kid, but that would make for a very huge roster.

A few days late to this thread but where did you hear the Beavs are still actively recruiting for 2017?

Looks like he'd be too good to turn down if he really wanted to be a Beaver. Like others have said in this thread, one of the Thompson boys or Tres could switch to a walk-on or we could be looking at someone leaving the program (that we don't know about yet).
