Don't know if it is a 1-0 game...9-8 game...or 13-1. LSU can pitch 1 guy or 8. Doesn't matter. Outcome will be the same. Beavers WIN!!! We may even win in the bottom of the 10th with a passed ball 3rd strike runner on 1st type of scenario.

I'm actually not nervous about our ability to hit or get on base or run up his pitch count. We are rolling, no reason to believe that it's suddenly coming to a halt on Friday. If we get the early lead, the pressure on LSU ratchets up big time. However, I am nervous about Jake (I'm assuming he starts tomorrow). Which Jake are we getting on Friday? We need him locked in from the get go. He's got to get ahead and stay ahead. Im guessing the 14-0 Jake....

Not so hot against Abilene Christian (10 hits in 5 IP), gave up 4 ER in 7.2 vs Vandy. Hence the "I am nervous"..

This game will be closer than I and other Beavers will like. I think he goes 7 innings and the Beavers win by 2. We will be on the edge of our seats the whole game! Just my opinion. Go Beavs! Don't disagree on Beavs by 2. Still don't think any one dimensional pitcher ( here's where LSU claims ortherwise, but for reference check your plate disciplinw comments before posting). makes it through the Beavs lineup twice. We have track record this season with these kind of guys. Not sure what we think will be different, is this guy a better version? Is OS not playing as well as when they played for example UO? Does th ball park benefit the pitcher? Runs will be scored and certainly we can't expect a performance like Fehmel put on for our entertainment. OS by two: 8-6 final Best 10 draft-eligible pitchers faced: Kyle Wright (#1 RHP) threw 6 2/3 innings of 8-hit ball with 8 strikeouts and 3 walks. 121 pitches. 7 earned runs. Oregon State 9 - Vanderbilt 2. (Game 21 in the second 23-game winning streak.) David Peterson (#1 LHP) threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball with 5 strikeouts and 4 walks. 85 pitches. 5 runs. 4 earned. (Brac Warren allowed Kwan to score on a sacrifice fly after Peterson was pulled.) Oregon State 5 - Oregon 4. (Game 7 in the second 23-game winning streak.) Alex Lange (#7 RHP) ? Griffen Canning (#10 RHP) threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball with 10 strikeouts and 3 walks. 121 pitches. 2 earned runs. Oregon State 4 - UCLA 2 in 10 innings. Connor Seabold (#16 RHP) threw 5 innings of 6-hit ball with 2 strikeouts and 1 walk. 97 pitches. 1 earned run. Oregon State 6 - Cal State Fullerton 5. (Seabold was inexplicably pulled after five, which opened up Oregon State's comeback to win Game 1 of the College World Series.) Riley Ottesen (#35 RHP) threw 7 innings of 7-hit ball with 2 strikeouts and 3 walks. 107 pitches. 3 earned runs. Oregon State 5 - Utah 4 in 16 innings. (Game 22 in the first 23-game winning streak.) JC Cloney (#44 LHP) threw 7 1/3 innings of 5-hit ball with 5 strikeouts and 2 walks. 108 pitches. 3 earned runs. Oregon State 4 - Arizona 3. (Harrison hit a two-out single to score Rutschman from third. This was Oregon State's first walk-off victory. Game 13 in the first 23-game winning streak.) Noah Bremer (#46 RHP) threw 8 innings of 9-hit ball with 9 strikeouts and 1 walk. 134 pitches. 1 earned run. Washington 3 - Oregon State 2. (Loss #2.) Jayson Rose (#57 RHP) threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball with 8 strikeouts and 1 walk. 118 pitches. 3 runs. 2 earned. Oregon State 5 - Utah 4. (Kwan hit a two-out single to left to score Preston Jones in the bottom of the ninth for the win. Game 21 in the first 23-game winning streak.) Robert Garcia (#70 LHP) threw 7 innings of 7-hit ball with 2 strikeouts and 2 walks. 109 pitches. 4 earned runs. Oregon State 4 - UC Davis 0. (Game 3 in the first 23-game winning streak.) Over.

What about the Stanford pitcher? Colton something. I think he's a reliever, but he was drafted high and we just teed off on him in our 25-hit blowout.
And don't forget the LSU guy who gave up the grand slam to Harrison. That was the first homer he's given up this year.
Normally good pitching beats good hitting, but OSU is proving the exception to the rule this year.
GO BEAVS!

Are you taking the over? Yes. Alex Lange may be the third-best pitcher that Oregon State has faced. Oregon State rocked both Wright and Peterson, but Pitchers 4-10 have thrown an average of 7 innings per outing, 6 hits, 5 strikeouts, 2 walks, and 2 earned runs. Hopefully, Oregon State can get to the bullpen early. If the Beavers cannot, the pitching and defense better glisten. The Tigers with Lange was something that I was hoping the Beavers could avoid.

Colton Hock (#23 RHP) 1/3 of an inning of 4-hit ball. Two walks. No strikeouts. 6 earned runs. Hunter Newman is an undrafted senior and was hurt for at least two weeks this year. He had thrown 25 1/3 innings without allowing a home run. To put that in perspective, Luke Heimlich threw 118 1/3 innings without allowing a home run, almost five times as long.

Looking chronologically the trend would be he doesn't make it. Different offense than Canning/Rose etc faced. If he stays in it's cause they have no better option. Which is fine too

He wasn't the overall 30th pick of the entire draft for nothing. The guy is a beast and gritty pitcher. I have no doubt he will have his hands full, but I guarantee you OSU hasn't faced many pitchers better than him this year. Will be a great battle. Let's hope LSU's bats come alive. Last night was a start.

Lange's IP will depend on one thing... the score.
If it's a close game in the balance... no matter 2-1 or 7-6... he'll be in as long as he tells his coach he can go. Even at 60% he is head and shoulders above the BP. The get a lead into the 8th it will be Hess. And his 94-97 has great drift (no t sure he knows where it is going and controls it?!), it is not the same as Wright who doesn't have the back end 'bump' and movement on his FB.
Out advantage is that we can throw out 5-6 arms with varied deliveries and "looks" from both sides that they have not seen. But, Lange will be on the hill as long as he can go in a close game. If we want to see the BP we need early separation of at least 3-4 runs.

Oregon State needs to get into LSU's middle relief as soon as possible, because the Tigers can begin and end games as well as anybody. If Oregon State can get into LSU's middle relief before the eighth, this came could be fun. If LSU can keep pace and Lange is still chucking into the eighth, though, the Beavers are going to be in a tough spot, particularly if there is a game on Saturday. Oregon State can win a war of attrition over Friday and Saturday, but the Beaver hitters need to chew up as many Tiger arms as they can on Friday.

Guess it's a compliment considering he will be richer than we will ever be in a month or so once he signs his contact.
