2 down, 3 to go.

I disagree. When the other teams see you hang 13 on an LSU, it registers.

I think score always matters, especially in a beatdown like we put on LSU. It sends a message, loud and clear, that the Beavs have the ability to destroy whoever they play.

I think it matters more as well. Nobody likes to get embarrassed like that, and now everybody is on notice that OSU can do that to you - LSU was supposed to be one that could challenge. It's going to add to the puckering of opponents from here on out.
It's somewhat strange that OSU didn't run teams like that very often all season. I don't think that type of game would happen outside the post-season either where one team can maintain that much focus with big lead, while the other team struggles to get their head straight throughout. That wasn't a case of a bunch of mashers knocking around some meatballs either, that was finding a soft spot and stabbing it repeatedly. It reminded me of Madrigal against Yale, bunting 4 straight singles - yes, maybe his hand was still hurt for full swings, but it felt more like, "until you stop this, I'm going to keep doing it". The killer instinct of this team is palpable. They seem to have found the same cocktail as the '07 team in the postseason, only these guys have had it for almost 60 games straight. It's unreal.

Ever been on the wrong end of a blowout? I have. Good teams don't get ruined by one. They think it was a fluke and it was the snowball rolling downhill. They get refocused, determined, and pi$$ed. LSU is a good team. Grab 'em where it hurts and do it again.

That way we can play all the teams on our side of the bracket.

Baseball can be unpredictable. Even great teams get hammered sometimes. Remember when we lost 11-1 to Miami in 2006? Didn't feel like we were going to do much after that. I think it really depends on the team. My biggest concern if I'm an LSU fan is whether my pitching staff can reload after everybody sent out Tuesday getting hammered. That was definitely a cocky team getting brought down to Earth. I think mentally that would be tough. With that said, I'm going to be really interested to see how Jake handles his next start. There seem to be a lot of great pitchers in Omaha who struggle. Excited for Friday!
