Pretty valid point. Oregon, the #8 team in the Pac-12 beat Mississippi State, the #5 team in the SEC earlier this year. Oregon actually shutout Mississippi State once this year. The last time that happened? When Arizona shut out Mississippi State in game 1 of the Starkville Super Regional in 2016. The top eight teams in the Pac-12 are better all-around teams than the top eight teams from the SEC. The problem is that the bottom 3-4 teams in the Pac-12 usually destroy the Pac-12 teams' RPI. That and the RPI rewards the SEC for its Tournament and punishes the Pac-12 for the lack of one.
