Start the true freshman in Omaha in his first start ever. Eisert has been averaging 2 1/3 innings per outing. That sounds like the first ingredient in a recipe for disaster. I would much rather start Ras with Eisert as first man up, in case things start going sideways. Raz-Eisert-Hickey- Max in that order. with Britton available also We are in good shape. Heck Mulholland can throw short relief if needed. I agree with this; you've gotta go with Raz. Go all out to win the game you're playing, no looking ahead to tomorrow. Eisert can pick him up if needed. There are two scenarios, depending on Friday's outcome (I'm not addressing the 3rd scenario of losing the next two games, for obvious reasons): If we win Friday (assume we use Raz and Eisert): Monday: Thompson on 8 days rest Tuesday: Fehmel on 7 days rest Wednesday (if needed): Britton/Mulholland/Johnny Wholestaff If we lose Friday: Saturday: Thompson on 6 days rest (normal 1 full week) Monday: Fehmel on 6 days rest (normal 1 full week) Tuesday: Britton/Mulholland/Johnny Wholestaff Wednesday (if needed): Tweedt/Johnny Wholestaff Friday's game is going to be big. If we win, our chances are very good to sweep that championship series behind Thompson and Fehmel and take home the hardware. But if we lose Friday, we should still make the championship series but I'm not nearly as confident in being able to put up two quality arms in that series. We'll be well into Daniel Turpin hope-and-pray mode in that case. So let's do everything possible to win Friday. Start Raz and shut the door. Damn he looked good Monday. GO BEAVS!

Hickey? Really? He has 3-2/3 IP all year. I like Ras starting, if he is up for it. We could do without another 73-pitch outing like in the Corvallis Regional, though. That is no bueno. I would rather throw Britton in that case.

I like the beginning, but I think Tweedt is a loss waiting to happen. If Ras goes Friday, I hope that he has enough left in the tank to go Wednesday on four days' (MLB "full") rest. I think that you throw whoever gives you the best chance to win on Friday. Thompson has thrown four gems this year on five days' rest after throwing 78+ pitches. Ras would seem even more logical, if he is up for it. Britton pitches this week or Oregon State saves him for next week. It is tough to see a way around it. Fehmel could go Saturday on four days' rest. He could come in in relief on Wednesday, if need be.

Hickey? Really? He has 3-2/3 IP all year. And he will play matchup for a batter in the next Beaver game.

Or a first line guy in short rest. In comparison Oregon State sits in a great spot with arms.

Verburg as a matchup guy? The problem anymore is that you need a left-hander to spell the starter and then come back with Verburg after the other team starts making offensive changes. Verburg worked better spelling Heimlich. If Mulholland starts, you could see Verburg out of the bullpen in middle relief.

I just want to get to see Max get a shot, I don't think he got a chance to pitch in 2013, and he is our lone senior, not to mention having one heck of an era in his outings this season.

He looked great in his one inning during the regionals, I guess its situational, or the back is still twinging him.

Maybe he still is injured and they let him have one last outing at home.

Even if he is, I hope they at least put him in for 1 batter in the CWS. He deserves it more than anyone with how hard he has worked over the years.

"F you Jobu, I do it myself" an LSU hitter was heard to say after the game
