The last time Cal State Fullerton played Oregon State?

In 2007, in game 1, Oregon State, playing out of the 1-seed spot, beat Cal State Fullerton (38-23) by a run, playing out of the 8-seed spot. Cal State Fullerton had upset the eight-seed host in a California regional and then beat a team from Southern California in the Super Regional to advance to the College World Series.

In the other game in the top of the bracket, national seed Arizona State came back from a 4-3 deficit to beat unseeded UC Irvine 5-4, the winning run coming in the eighth.

In the losers' bracket, unseeded UC Irvine finished off Cal State Fullerton 5-4.

In the winners' bracket, national seed Arizona State's starter lasted an inning.  The Beavers never trailed, opening up an 11-run lead and coasting to victory, despite a seventh inning Sun Devil comeback bid.

Oregon State has won the College World Series every time they have won game 1. Oregon State is 1-3 in College World Series after losing the opener.

In 2007, unseeded UC Irvine upset national seed Arizona State 8-7 in the losers' bracket.  Oregon State then beat UC Irvine 7-1 to advance to the Championship Series.  On the other side of the bracket, #3 North Carolina, the ACC Champion, beat an SEC team before dropping a game against #2 Rice, the highest ranked team in the bottom half of the bracket.  North Carolina then beat Louisville before upsetting Texas' Rice in two games to come out of the losers' bracket.  Oregon State then swept #3 North Carolina 11-4 and 9-3.

Yes it was.  We shut them out both games too.
