The Braves went ALL IN on their first 4 draft picks.
They drafted Wright in the 1st, followed by 2 HS kids and one JC kid.
Their 5th-10th round picks were all college seniors.
They will steal all of those college senior's slot money to pay the top 4 kids this year. Or maybe pay any savings to an 11-40th round pick.
If you're the agent for one of those top 4 picks, you know you can get the Braves to pony up, because they have so much cash with the college senior picks.

If you just signed a huge contract, would you continue playing in the CWS?
Baseball money is guaranteed, right?
If I was a MLB team, just dropped a few mil of guaranteed money on a new shiny toy, I'd like that toy to skip the rest of their college career and get into work immediately.

Rules are... you can't sign until college career is over. My experience is that you can negotiate as long as agent has not signed you... everything can be basically settled, but no contract signed unless your not plannibg on playing in college.

Makes sense and is logical. I wonder if a player has ever signed and foregone the CWS?

For Razz at $2+mil offer corning off TJ and limited innings this year... I'd think it would be dumb to risk CWS... but??
