My pick would be Rassie. Fully rested, must beat CSFU or LSU anyway, and allows Thompson his customary amount of rest.
Thoughts?

Thompson pitched a week ago Friday, so he has his normal rest +1 if pitching Saturday.

You are absolutely correct, OrangeBlood. So, I guess the question is: who gets the call for the Beavers second game in Omaha?

I would guess Razz, he should be extra rested, but would need extra rest for a 2nd start?

Yeah I don't think there's any reason not to throw our best possible guy in Omaha where every team is really freakin good. In the regional I can understand it because the 4-seed is likely a class below the 1-seed but having to go through the loser's bracket is such a pain in the ass. The 2006 championship was certainly an exception and not the rule. Let's pitch our best (available) guy in G1 and figure it out from there. My guess is it'll be: G1: Thompson G2: Rasmussen G3: Fehmel

Rest for Rasmussen governs here, I totally agree. I think he will be absolute nails in the winner's bracket game Monday night.

I'm not sure how anyone can see/predict Razz as being efficient let alone lights out coming of his last outing and dnp. More than likely he'll be tenuous at best, still on a pitch count, and unlikely to go more than 5-6... at most vs this level (why I'd start him game 1 as Fullerton not as potent as LSU and any chance on him pitching again this series depends on rest). He has not pitched vs a quality opponent in a month. He'll want to do his best, but will be very aware of overextending due to being 31st pick and the behind the scenes negotiating. TB is more concerned about his health than OSU's CWS. Do not be surprised to see Fehmel with Razz in relief... or in very limited start. As I postulated very early in the season Razz was not the key to getting here, and will not be the key how long we stay. He's just not physically capable of being the stalwart #2 guy. He's pitched just enough to keep his draft status and potential up. Our run depends on JT, Fehmel, and the "other guys" no other team seems to respect/know about.

Not that I know, but I would give strong thought for Fehmel in Game 1. WOW what a game he Pitched last week. He seem to be the kind of Guy who says give me the damn ball I going to beat these guys. He keeps the Ball down and he is very, very good. That Leaves JT for Louisville or LSU.

Nice to have the options, either guy can win any game for us, but I would get Razz out there game 2 if LSU doesn't win, Fehmel if they do. LSU has the same kind of attitude at the plate as Vandy, and at Ameritrade, we have fast outfielders to cover all those shots to the track. Just my opinion, but that is why they pay me big bucks to post on Benny's House "Never Give Up, Never Surrender!"
