But hey, I get to see that one catcher from Eugene play for Hillsboro who was getting bothered, distracted, and agitated by the train horn in the non-conference Civil War game earlier this season. Maybe I can play a recording of such a sound on my phone and get his attention.

I was hoping they would send him to Missoula, MT ( Osprey) so I could heckle him this summer!

OSU players are a little busy right now. You will see them. We know they are busy, but who would we see? There aren't any that would be assigned to the NW League.

Troy Claunch, catcher and Kevin Watson, outfielder are incoming freshmen. Both played last night and looked very good in the Knights home opener. Zack Taylor and Trevor Malone are listed on the knights roster. We will see how it shakes out when the CWS is over.

FWIW, Dylan Pearce, a Beaver recruit out of Crater, was dealing against the Portland Pickles earlier this week for the Medford Rogues according to a coworker who knows his baseball. He was on a local radio show this morning being interviewed with the GM and was well spoken, humble, and excited to join the Beavers.

I seriously doubt he'd make it to Tri-Cities this season, but Hunter Jarmon is now in the Padres system. Probably be in the Arizona league this year if at all.

He's been doing extensive workouts for over a month. Depending on player needs at each level/ call ups/ injuries, and his progress he could very well see time in short A.

Just posted this on the Jarmon thread on the football page but probably works here too:
I'm very curious about this story, would love to know more about how this came to be.
Did a quick search of the Padres scouting staff and guess who is listed as Special Assignment Advisor, Scouting & Player Development? None other than Psycho Steve Lyons.
