Does anyone know where one can purchase the official baseball game hat worn by our Omaha-bound Beavs? (i.e., fitted, wool, tri-colored, and not the "vented" NIKE "vapor" version)?
For the life of me I cannot find it for sale anywhere and suspect that they have never been made for sale to the general public (yet).

Unfortunately, most hats aren't made from wool anymore. Even New Era, who makes MLB hats, stopped making them with wool and moved to a polyester blend around 2007. I can't say for sure, but I would imagine Nike does the same. It's a shame. I much prefer the old wool hat.
somewhat off subject, i'd love to get an old osu baseball hat. the ones they wore during the '06 and '07 CWS. Can't seem to find those anywhere though.

Thanks Fumblerooski; much appreciated. Yes, something like a New Era hat is what I am looking for, but they just don't seem to be available (only available in the NIKE mesh style). The old OSU baseball caps (with the baseball in the "O") are the holy grail..... and are pretty much impossible to find, from what I can tell.

In 2006, I bought up a couple of official hats in the bookstore after the CWS. I wore mine out that year, but I gave the other to my dad. He put it in a sealed bag put it up in his closet, where it remains to this day. He's dealing with terminal cancer right now, so depending on how things go over the next 10 days, we might get it down whenever the Beavs are playing. |

I've purchased the official ones in the Beaver store in downtown Portland. Not sure why they're not available on the OSU beaver store online. But, my least favorite version is the tri-colored one. Reminds me too much of the trucker hats we got in little league back in the late 70s/early 80s. I don't need to re-live the bad fashion of that time. |

I have 2 of the 06/07 hats. One is well worn, and one is for game day only.
I wish we would go back to them
