Not sure that Seabold is exactly "talking trash." Paper basically took the juiciest part of his statement and left out the rest that provides the context. Here's the full quote: “That’s what we wanted because we know we’re better than them. We know we can beat them. If we play the better game, we’ll win. So that’s what we’ve gotta believe.” I mean, how is this any different than Treston Decoud saying he thinks OSU will win the Pac-12 in football this fall? |

Exactly. very key phrase - "So that's what we gotta believe" That's basically what I tell our HS wrestlers - it starts from within. If you don't believe in yourself first, don't even bother showing up. I would think that also holds true for all 8 teams in Omaha. |

He is just having some fun and later clarified some quotes were taken out of context. These games will not be easy to say the least

seabold did not loose the game the other two pitchers did. And their two errors, while not costing them a run that inning, just put that much more pressure on extending their pitcher for the eighth. |

If you do not think that you are better than the other team, don't take the field. As PC said, everybody is 0-0 now. That is the type of guy you want to take the field with.

I never thought Seabold lost the game, just never liked his comments about how "We are the better team" and such. Really didn't like those comments when they kept showing the Fullerton dugout and Seabold in particular, sporting that sh!t eating grin up 5-1.
I have no problem with confidence. Cocky is annoying. There is a difference. The Fullerton coach said as much in the article. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
I will say that it was great to watch this comeback, and watch all those grins slowly fade away.

Might be what he meant. They're all young, but boy did Adley R come off great in the post game. Good job young man! |
