A nice article about graduating fifth-year senior Kari Korver of UCLA is accessible via the link below. Korver is very appreciative of her years at UCLA and the people that she met along her collegiate journey. As a PAC-12 fan, I always knew that Korver would give everything that she had on the court to help her squad win. A very pesky competitor. The article notes that Korver was close to committing to Oregon State prior the changing of the coaching staff in 2011 when Nikki Caldwell resigned her UCLA position to accept the top position at LSU. Interesting to read that Korver was planning to commit to the Beavs prior to Cori Close becoming UCLA's head coach and extending a scholarship offer to her. Korver would have been in the Beavers Class of 2012 incoming class that included Ruth Hamblin, Deven Hunter, Jamie Weisner, and Samantha Siegner had she opted to attend college in Corvallis. If so, Korver would likely have provided another outside shooting threat on a team that made it to the Final Four in 2016. We never really know how close OSU may have finished in the recruiting races to land some of the nation's top recruits who eventually opt for other colleges. Multiple sources have written that OSU was #2 in the race to land Class of 2017's Kiana Williams, the San Antonio-based point guard and #8-ranked overall player in her class who opted to sign with Stanford. dailybruin.com/2017/06/10/senior-signoffs-kari-korver-grateful-for-friends-made-in-five-years-of-ucla-basketball/
