Isn't another Beaver catcher, Parker Berberet still with the Brewers as well? I know he was transitioning to pitcher.

He started out pretty hot and has been knocked around lately. Also on his team is Trever Morrison. He's struggling - .170 on the year. 42K in 112 ABs. Ouch.

Congrats to KJ!
Drafted as a catcher, but he's not done too badly at 1st. I am sure that they are going to look good and hard at his initial ML posting to see where he is at, considering he caught so little at OSU. But it's hard to get time behind the plate when you are 2nd string behind Logan Ice, and then Adley comes in and by that time you are 3rd string behind him and Gretler because they'd rather have you at first.

If he has any chance of sticking at catcher, he needs to try it. 1B is all the way at the bottom of the defensive spectrum, so you gotta be an amazing hitter to move up the ranks at 1B. If you can hit your body weight while playing good defense at catcher, you're a commodity.

He's got a LONG ways to go at catcher IMO. Pretty raw back there. But that said, I'll be rooting for him!

But a big advantage in catching for him is that he doesn't have the wear and tear on the knees that he would have had going through college behind the plate. But having a catcher at 1st who is used to digging the ball out of the turf is worth something at first.
