Fullerton up 2-0 in the fifth inning.
Who do we prefer to see? Does it even matter?

I love baseball, but I don't know the nuances of ideal match-ups, particularly at a team level.
I have been rooting for Fullerton simply because they are the lower ranked team. I know I was wary of Vanderbilt because I thought their pitching would give us trouble. Boy, was I wrong there! :-)

Fullerton up 2-0 in the fifth inning. Who do we prefer to see? Does it even matter? I generally root for the team that looks less polished defensively, more likely to make mistakes. Oregon State's bread-and-butter is moving guys station-to-station and that strategy tends to work better against teams that are less polished and have worse fundamentals, especially in the infield. Of the teams in the College World Series, I see Cal State Fullerton as the most polished of the eight teams. Thus, I was personally pulling for Long Beach State.......to no avail. Oh well. Oregon State's 2007 College World Series run began with Cal State Fullerton. 2017 begins the same way. Go Beavs!
