They might get to throw some innings! I think they'd be happy with five consecutive complete game shutouts

We all saw a completely rested Fehmel yesterday.
Is he going to be completely rested by pitch time next week in Omaha?
Should he have been pulled in the 7th or 8th to save him some wear and tear?

Sure seemed like a pretty relaxed 100+ pitch-count effort to me . Lot of off speed and breaking ball looks. I doubt the extra 20 throws in that kind of rythym will have any real affect.

He should get a minimum of a full weeks worth of rest. I was more worried about the dog pile hurting Fehmel than his pitch count. Assuming Thompson starts first, maybe Rasmussen is healed up and ready for game 2? If Heimlich decides to come back (and administration lets him, if you read between the lines of the Eggers article), the pitching is downright frightening.

They might get to throw some innings! What I hear you saying is the bullpen is hoping to come back through the loser's bracket! Don't think they get their wish there

Don't think they get their wish there Naw, but when we are up by 6 after 7 innings, Coach is going to want to save the starter's arm after tuning up the #1 pitcher in the draft (of ALL time) perhaps we can manage a hit here and there against lesser pitchers

I've wondered if Luke will appear because it's far from here and there may not be as much noise. I would love to see it.

I think that President Ray has a lot of enemies out there, because of the way the Penn State fiasco was handled, and Oregon State has a lot of enemies as a result. As much "noise" as there is in the echo chamber of Corvallis, going up against Vanderbilt, there is going to be a lot more noise in a tournament involving Cal State Fullerton, LSU, Texas A&M, and Texas Christian in a stadium largely populated with a bunch of Nebraska fans. Oregon State is deep enough at pitcher that the Beavers do not need Luke to pitch, unless Oregon State goes into the losers' bracket. Tomorrow is the draft. Let's see what comes of that.

If Oregon State can win this tournament while having the #1 pitcher in the entire nation sit on the bench, then there should be no argument that it's the best team to ever play the sport of baseball in the NCAA.

It's too hard with all the changes to the ball and bat to claim the best ever. Just go out and win it this year and let history decide the best ever.

If Oregon State wins the National Championship, 2017 Oregon State is the greatest NCAA baseball team in the history of the sport. If Luke keeps his warm-up jacket on through the duration, there is no argument. If Luke pitches, in my opinion, you are going to hear a lot of, yeah, well Luke pitched in the College World Series asterisk talk. Unless the Beavers lose one of the first two, there is no upside to Luke pitching in my opinion.

Was Luke in the dugout in game 2? I could have sworn I saw him.
