"Greatest record in OSU history? Yep. Most talented? My vote is no and explained why in an earlier thread. Best team in OSU and NCAA history? Yes... IF THEY WIN THE TROPHY. The championship means everything when measuring against other champions." [/quote]
They don't give a trophy for most talented.,..unless it is a talent contest. This is a contest to see who the best baseball team is. I'd rather be us than anyone else in the tournament.

I think the phrase hot at the right time is important at Omaha.
In '13 Michael was scuffling. He still had a few hits (1 HR?) but the late season shift defense got in his head. For better or worse MC & Dylan Davis carried us along with pitching. Matt Boyd was a full grown man pitching w/Mono
Are we hot right now? Think so. Jack anderson was the only one scuffling (in 2 games) in the SR. KJ seems to have found another gear. That can carry us. As long as he doesn't "get big". Someone famous said that a time or 2. Madrigal looks healed from his hand injury & 4 bunt day. (LOL) And we have speed up and down the lineup. You can't teach speed (or height) Pitching seems "OK" As MbaBeav says we haven't seen our bullpen in a while. However our 4th starter just out pitched the #1 pick in the draft. There may be some talent there

I'm not sure we're "hot" (although I don't know what else you would call a 21-game win streak), but we're certainly warm and playing at a consistently high level. That definitely counts for something.
As far as individuals, Gretler also seemed to struggle in the SR. Or at least he did in Game 2 against Wright. If Grets and Jack find their groove, look out.
As the ESPN announcers noted, when our lineup hits 8-9-1-2, magical things seem to happen...
GO BEAVS!
