Absolutely unreal performance. Unbelievable. I would've lost the house if I were a betting man. Thought this would be a Johnny Wholestaff effort for sure. And the Beaver bats, so disciplined, so devastating. What a great night.
On another note, I hope our SEC Network commentators can rest up their jaws before their next outing. They were working that visitors dugout glory hole extra hard tonight. It's not easy work, but someone has to do it I suppose...

It's not completely out of the blue. He's done this before, it's just that he seemed to have lost it there for a while. We all knew he had it in him, and like Casey said somebody's got to step up, so Bryce did.
Wonderful.

Well they were SEC after all and as for Bryce I think he just didn't know where he was and thought it was a scrimmage game or something really weird like that

Have yourself a game why don't ya?!

Tip of the hat to the young guy whom I had given up on. Where the heck did the performance that has made him an OSU legend come from. Amazing. Guys step up for great teams, but this was unexpected.

I actually thought there was a great chance Fehmel would do very well against Vandy. Vandy the night before could really hit the FB but were not liking the breaking stuff. What was amazing was Fehmel's total domination and control. Really remarkable. Vandy clearly had no idea what was being thrown at them. I also have to say the Beav's have taken a huge step forward at the Plate. Our Guys can hit.

An absolutely masterful performance by the young man last night. He was nails, all night long. Complete domination.
Who would want to face our pitching staff in Omaha? I have to imagine they are quaking in their cleats.

Congratulations Bryce! Well done and punching the Beavs ticket to Omaha! Absolutely dominant. I don't know how you all felt, but when it was 4-2, I felt calm because he was just locating unbelievably well last night. Masterful!

It was absolutely heartbreaking to watch him struggle earlier in the season and start to lose confidence in himself. What a comeback! I loved (nearly) every minute of it!

And serious props to Coach Yeskie for calling a mix of pitches that had Vandy totally off balance the entire game. Bryce put them where they needed to be, but Yeskie called them in the order they needed to be.

Tip of the hat to the young guy whom I had given up on. Where the heck did the performance that has made him an OSU legend come from. Amazing. Guys step up for great teams, but this was unexpected. Let us recall that he had several performances like this earlier this year. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball against Arizona. What happened was (and Parker/Wilson talked about this on the radio) was that he developed some arm tendonitis and soreness, causing him a slight loss of control. If Bryce isn't on, he gets hit. He wasn't on, and he got hit. This happened about the same time Drew was getting back, thus Bryce hit the pines. His arm is now healthy, and we saw the real Fehmel last night.

Pitchers don't have to throw in the high 90's to be effective. Toward the end of the game (after Wright was pulled) the announcers commented that Fehmel was a 4 pitch pitcher who had a real curve instead of a slider and was using that curve as his out pitch.
Kudos to the team for not giving up on him and helping him re-discover his control. Fehmel was a huge part of the early 23 game win streak and now it looks like he's pitched his way into becoming a huge part of this 2017 CWS bound team.
Way to go Bryce!!
