Just now on ESPN2 They broke into the Davidson vs Texas AM game and said Luke will not start tonight and did bring up the story! Lot's of conflicting info out there, and the Beavs Baseball twitter has been silent for 2 days now. Guess we'll have to see whose name is on the official lineup card... twitter.com/BeaverBaseball

I have held of posting to any of the threads on the whole Luke situation until I could absorb it all. As I understand it, this all came to light of day because he didn't keep his status of 'sex offender' up to date. If he would have done so, we would have never heard any of this. The molestation happened when he was under legal age at 15. He admitted his guilt and presumably served whatever penalty was imposed Nobody in their right mind can 'forgive and forget' this type of crime. From a legal standpoint the fact that it occurred when he was underage is his only saving grace. Happens when 18+ we never hear of him at OSU or anywhere else. So what to do? He didn't commit the act when an adult or when at OSU. From that perspective, let him play. Not an easy call, and in our 'judge others' society, it won't be a popular one. Granted sexual abuse of a 6 year old is right up there on 'things you will pay for at judgment day'. That judgment however belongs to the Almighty. It is always possible to forgive.

Its quite possible that neither the victim nor her family has received counseling to help them cope with what happened so their only coping mechanism is to hold a grudge. Luke may have removed himself tonight because he is unable to focus on baseball. I hope someone keeps an eye on him. Many people have compounded their problems with dumb choices when it looks like their future is going up in flames.

So now are best pitcher isn't going to pitch at all ? Casey is really going to let scumbags at The Oregonian set his pitching rotation?

Um, if Luke feels he is unable to pitch at this time, the writing was put on the wall yesterday and he made the decision himself. Casey was not the person making the decision.
