Tinkle TinkersThe players on campus have worked hard with strength/conditioning coach Jeff Macy this spring, Tinkle says. The coach feels particularly good about the progress of junior center Gligorije Rakocevic and guards Stevie Thompson Jr. and JaQuori McLaughlin. "Big G's vertical is up at least six inches," Tinkle says. "Stevie and JaQuori have each put on probably 10 pounds of good weight."

Glad to see the European trip coming up for the summer. Didn't they originally plan to take one last summer before offseason injuries forced them to cancel?

This is a great year for them to do Europe. Getting several games in late summer could make a good difference come winter.
6 inches on a vertical jump is a pretty decent improvement. If I could add 6 inches to my vertical jump, that'd nearly quadruple my current ability.

I figure that 6" improvement probably doubled Big G's vertical. BTW, since I know a little about the Cyrillic alphabet, my guess is that his name is not pronounced "gli gor ee ay" like so many people seem to be doing. The Russkies (et.al.) have a letter that is like a soft "J" or "zhe" sound, which is probably why his English name ends in "ije". They tried to pick a letter that best reflected the correct pronunciation. So I'll bet it's pronounced like it looks: "gli gor ij". Anybody have any better idea?

Wouldn't expect any less, but I like his comments on Drew and Kone.
