I know, I know. Soccer fans and college baseball fans are two circles on the Venn Diagram that almost never overlap.
But watching the Beavs tear through the regular season and first round of postseason reminds me more than a little of Germany dismantling the opposition in the most recent World Cup (e.g. Germany 7, Brazil 1). No other team looked like they belonged on the same field with them.
Thats is probably a bit of hyperbole but I do think it's going to take a hell of a performance to knock this team off course.

I remember Germany needed a miracle goal from late-game substitute Miroslav Klose, in order to draw African also-rans Ghana 2-2. Germany dominated against Brazil, 7-1, and Portugal, 4-0, but had the tie against a weak Ghana. Germany also needed extra time to finish off an even tamer Algeria. Argentina also took Germany into extra time. Germany's wins against France and the United States were very tight, 1-0 each. 2002 Brazil would be more apt in my opinion. There was no resounding 7-1 game but no team seriously challenged them.
