I don't see when we are going to get him. Is he plug and play beginning this fall, or does he go into 2018? It may be obvious that since he is a JC Transfer, that he would be considered a late add, scholarship, and good to go as soon as he hits the OSU campus ? Seems like he would be a great immediate add, because that would be an additional lineman with OSU experience. He moves to Center as a natural position and our current center (originally on O line, moves to his natural position. I love the attention to detail. If this was the old regime, we would go into the year with at least two unknowns as built in excuses. 1) We graduated our senior and 2) had to move an O- lineman which created more inexperience.

Wasn't our current center a defensive lineman?

I'm not seeing "OSU experience" either. 2 games for South Alabama and a season at College of the Sequoias. At least he's seen some playing time somewhere as a center.

HUDL shows Carson as 6'4" & 242. His positions long snapper and TE. He is shown as Olineman but at that weight can't see him as a center. I am guessing he was used on punts only, at South Alabama he was listed as long snapper. In Pac a big Dlineman would eat his lunch.

Sumner is still the starting Center, no one is moving on the O-Line this is simply grabbing a specialist. An important specialist though, as a former center/long snapper I can tell you that Long snapping was a HARD undervalued job. I was MORE than happy to just be the starting center and let the backup specialise in long snapping

Wow, you guys have much better insight than the original post. I really don't like it when we only get the 'what' part of the story, we need who( more than name ), how, what, why and where too, Still an interesting pick up. Thanks !

There is very little info out there on Carson. I posted what I could find, 2 links. Both of these came from twitter,https://twitter.com/BeavRecruiting and unfortunately twitter does not give you much info, you need to hunt from there. One other twitter post I did not show was from his Special Teams U coach about working on his snaps, prntscr.com/fgleuz
