Hope it burns them vs Yale!
Of course, he does have the best #'s on their staff so there's that too...

Seems/feels like they are trotting out their best arm for game 1. Guess we will see. Regardless, I would like to see Yale light him up.

You absolutely do not want to be in the losers bracket; understand why they are doing it. Can't risk a 5 game run against pitching like OSU has.

Beavs scored 4 ER off Myers in 3.1 innings in Surprise AZ. Did not face Hohensee. Hohensee gave up 6 ER in 6 IP in his last start (game 1 of Big 10 tournament, May 24).

Nebraska will not beat us... only we beat us. They're not good. They won a weak conference with 7 losses. Their stats are vs that weak conference. They battle for last place in Pac12. On an unrelated topic... stayed in same hotel in Surprise. I was around their coaching staff in causal situations. Color me NOT impressed. Their 3B coach was quite the little wannabe. Some parents had quite the load of stories about him. I think we could win this Regional with our backups.

That's pretty much my take on the Regional. None of the three teams is even remotely in the same class as OSU. That said, it is still baseball...

Re NEBRASKA "strategy": all it takes is one hot pitcher to produce an upset in an opening game. Yale actually has a true 'ace' who might put the Huskers in a hole - Scott Politz, soph. rhp. He was 10-2 in 12 starts, with 3.47 era. 69 SO and 17 BB in 80 ip.

That's pretty much my take on the Regional. None of the three teams is even remotely in the same class as OSU. That said, it is still baseball... Nebraska is the scariest team of the three, and they should not really scare anyone. Yale is the best hitting team of the four teams. But Oregon State leads in most other statistical categories, e.g., stolen bases, most of the pitching categories, and fielding percentage. If Yale can beat Nebraska without using its ace, they definitely have a chance of winning the Regional. Holy Cross should be an easy win, but Oregon State usually struggles against 4-seeds, so expect a close one. As for Nebraska pitchers, what a cluster. Meyers issues the fewest walks but has served up the most home runs. Hohensee issues the fewest hits and has more strikeouts than Meyers, but does not have Meyers' control and tends to walk more batters. Burkamper has has the most strikeouts of the three and gives up the fewest home runs but also has a higher WHIP than the other two, issuing both more hits and walks than the other two.
