It appears that Cameron Brink made the list of 18 finalists for the USA U-16 team that was released on May 29, but did not make the final roster of 12 players that was made public today (see second link below). Reports and videos of the U-16 girls tryouts indicated that Brink showed extremely well, displaying uncommon agility and a very special motor for a 6'4" (is now listed as 6'5" on the USA Basketball website) rising sophomore. Brink is clearly on the wish list for virtually every Power 5 conference team that believes it may have a shot with her during the recruiting sweepstakes. Very good to know that the OSU coaching staff has been in early with her and that Brink feels comfortable visiting Gill and watching the Beavs with her family. usatodayhss.com/2017/18-players-named-finalists-for-team-usa-u16-womens-national-teamwww.usab.com/basketball/media/galleries/2017/05/wu16-team.aspx

Thanks for digging up this info.... As well, I appreciate your balanced insight into upcoming stars like Cameron Brink, and as well your information concerning older, more mature athletes such as Erin Boley. We most likely will never know the reasons behind Boley choosing the Ducks over the Beavs (and Vanderbilt) and, as you indicated, everyone's conclusions involve a considerable amount of guesswork.
Bottom line: Boley has the markings of a great player - she hasn't proved it yet, but she probably will. The Beavs would have loved to sign her. We didn't.

The more that you see Cameron Brink in action, the more you will appreciate all that she brings to the floor and could contribute at the PAC-12 level during the '20-'21 season as she continues to refine her game. Brink's agility and basketball IQ for a high school freshman are noteworthy, as is her 6'4" frame, overall skill set, and motor. Brink wears #42 for her Southridge HS squad in the three YouTube videos that are accessible below.

And some more Cameron Brink sightings, this time on the floor of Gill, at last year's OSU Summer Invitational:
Go Beavs!

The video interview below of Cameron Brink lasts 51 seconds and provides a bit of her perspective as to what she needs to work on to compete against the best in the nation in her age group.
