I wonder where this leaves Brevin White, he appeared to be leaning towards OSU. Does GA take two prep QB's this year, knowing they can redshirt with Luton and 3M only juniors?

Hopefully it puts pressure on him to commit to us Tell him that we only take 2 QBs per class so he better sign on the dotted line quick!

Everyone has him as a 3 star recruit, which is solid. Mason Moran was also a three star (dual threat though, vs. Petras' Pro Style), but Moran was rated 5.7 (.8558 on 24/7) on rivals, and Petras 5.6 (.8399 on 24/7)
Petras has a slightly more impressive offer list, but neither list blows you away.
For how much press and excitement Mason got when he committed (more likely due to coming off a year with Nick Mitchell as a starting QB option), I am surprised this hasn't gotten more buzz or excitement. Of course maybe it is baseball taking all the Beaver Nation attention, or the fact that Mason Moran himself is now a safety so we know not to get too excited by recruits?
Of course if Brevin White or one of the other four stars we have offered commits they will get a to of buzz and I would be very excited as well.
For now, though, Spencer seems like a nice add. Tall and from his tape has plenty of arm... like most young QBs seems to take a while to load up, but once he is primed the release is quick. Hard to tell on HS tape how the decision making is since it is all highlights and wide open WR. Looks like in high school he operated solely from the shotgun. And I don't think we will see him run any read option, pretty statuesque back there. Anyone else have a quick scouting report?

This is more proof beavs are moving to full time Pro Formation.
I will not have nightmares about Riley air sacks and left tackles getting blown up.

Uh oh, better stay close until signing day. Guess who will be coming after him ? My guesses - BYU ( no shot ) Wife allotment used up Nebraska ( that old Beaver coach - what's his name )? I would say Gnaw ! WSU ( Leach could get attached to him 😜) Utah - No utes is good utes Cal - could not bear it ! Looks like he is solid to me.... 4 stars and rising !

Spencer Petras, Oregon State 4-star QB commit, visiting this weekend, plans to enroll early
He can see that there's a good possibility we have open competition for the starting QB job next year.

A lower 4* (not a slam on the kid) without a hint of D1 ball is able to compete with a "prized" JC (assuming he plays... all info points to be will) and a "coaches pick" transfer. Not exciting to me with the past QB history and "top flight" QB instruction provided by this staff. *he'd be a great starting point for a new staff though 😁

Really like his film. Excellent glide step, footwork and strong arm. Will be a great one to watch develop!

I certainly hope the Beavers had a coach there as well! With Riley on such shaky ground, it's hard to think that he's got a lot of pull right now. And Nebraska fans like them a good wishbone, not a pro style quarterback anyway.
