BYU wins championship game of the WCC tournament and automatic bid. You know what that could mean. If BYU comes to Corvallis, the regional starts on Thursday.

Why does everyone in the country have to accomodate BYU. I know religion and Sunday. But, they CHOOSE to compete knowing full well when games are played. It can be a significant advantage to make everyone else adapt to your schedule/game prep.

( not blaspheme - just an attempt at humor ) I agree that it is wrong to make the many placate to the few. Mormons are not the only fans with Faith. Will alcohol sales stop as well. Coffee?? No crying and no PC in Baseball.

The entire Pac 12 adjusts it's schedule to not play on Easter Sunday. This really isn't any different. Why does everyone in the country have to accomodate BYU. I know religion and Sunday. Easter happens ONCE a year, and EVERY Christian religion observes it. Sundays happen every week. That seems pretty different to me.

It's a small thing to be inclusive. I'd even say if a Seventh-day Adventist university wanted to field teams, we should find a way to accommodate that (football would be very difficult though).

That seems pretty different to me. Point well taken, but it was the principle rather than the frequency I was referring to. There should be no catering to religion in NCAA sports. Baseball should be played on Easter, and BYU should play on Sunday. The NFL plays on Christmas, as does the NBA. There are Bowl games on Christmas. Stanford and OSU should have played on Easter a few years ago. This catering to Easter is ridiculous.

NBA and NFL play on holidays for $$$. If there was more money in not playing on those days, they would not.

Unpaid 18-23 year olds should have to play on Easter.....and practice on Christmas Day.

Are they really spending Easter with their families? They don't have any more time to travel than any other Sunday. That works for a few of them whose families live nearby maybe. Knowing how competitive kids are, I'm guessing many would want a chance to play every day of the year they possibly can. Except the Mormons, anyway.

Well, when I was attending OSU, although I lived too far away to travel home, I was always invited to a friend's family that lived in the area for Easter. I enjoyed it very much, for what it's worth of course. I'll bet many of these college kids would enjoy a break now and then. I know my high school athlete does, and that's not nearly as rigorous as college.
