The Ducks are going to show up at Gill with a bus load of WBB basketball talent in the next several years. I can see this match-up turning into one of America's top rivalry games..Easily. Sellouts at both venues. That's exciting stuff for WBB in general and Beaver basketball in particular.
Boley gives Oregon 2 National POY on the same roster - I'm pretty sure that has never happened on any Pacific Northwest Roster ever. Probably has never happened to a PAC-12 school before. Good thing for us die hard Beaver fans that Coach R is stacking his roster with premium talent as well.

Objectively... not a comment on the young lady... has there ever been a more lacking (in the eyes of our fans) couple of decisions on which school to attend than those two back to back?
And POY or not, this young lady was far from a major contributor last year. In two years she'd have a tough fight for PT at OSU. Maybe part of her decision?

Anyone on board or care.

I do, anything duck must totally suck ! BTW, what a huge step down in terms of an education- from Notre Dame to the worst education in the PAC-12 ? Oh well, she will get a minimum wage job at NIKE !

It does not appear that Erin Boley took the time to visit Corvallis for an official visit. She made her transfer destination decision following her visit to Eugene. The Ducks continue to stockpile highly-rated women's basketball talent. A key challenge for Coach Graves will be to effectively juggle playing time for a core of Class of 2016 recruits (add Boley to the mix beginning in '18-'19) and a talented incoming Class of '17 recruits whose expectations right now have to be that they all will somehow receive significant playing time.
Boley's forte is outside shooting and offense, not defense. My guess is that the allure of playing in a more up tempo offensive scheme in Eugene rather than the dramatic contrast to the Beavs' demanding team defensive schemes may have played a factor in Boley's decision to play at Oregon.

Since this thread has been listed over on that site, I just want to say, SCOREBOARD!
And that none of their players will go 8-0 in Civil Wars like our last two senior classes.
As for Boley going over to the Evil Empire, it stings. But, Rueck has always been a maestro of making players greater than what many others would have assumed. They always get better. And I say Rueck and out X-and-O Graves any day, see final minutes of the last two Civil Wars for example.

And I say Rueck and out X-and-O Graves any day, see final minutes of the last two Civil Wars for example. I kind of wondered when she included hole in her list. They made that nice run in the tourney at least a year ahead of schedule after being a middling team in our conference during the regular season. They have a lot of talented kids in their program, they have facilities that are second to none, and Graves can coach. I mostly hate that it's that school because I don't like the way that they do things. I refuse to act the jilted lover here like I allowed myself to do with Ionescu. I really didn't appreciate the silly drama that was involved, but it seemed that there was a mutual parting of the ways in the process that was free of animosity from both sides. I do prefer the way that Destiny Slocum made her decision, an attitude no doubt heightened by whom she selected to play for! What I won't do with Sabrina or Erin Boley is entertain the silly "we didn't want her anyway" hooey that Cryalotti perfected in that place. Both Destiny and Boley chose the place that felt right them. I happen to feel that OSU got the more dynamic and complete player, but both of our futures got better with those commitments. I honestly am fine with our rivals being good, as long as we're as good or better. I expect both programs to be perennially in the top 4 in the PAC 12 for as long as they have their current HEAD coaches (wanting emphasize my lack of regard for a certain assistant down south who is a coattail grabber). The Civil Wars will be awesome and meaningful - as opposed to anything we've seen in the prior couple if decades at least. I already expected that this would soon evolve into a home win for each team in the series as early as next year. They can do whatever they do (although I'd enjoy seeing them suck). As long as we keep reloading, it's just about the Beavs for me anyway!

Good for you. I have come around to the same place. 'A rising tide lifts all boats' and the PAC 12 is going to get a lot more national credibility and recognition as a result. More fans, more TV, more tournaments, more overall exposure and PRESTO, now the whole country is chasing the PAC 12 and the SEC, the ACC, Big 10 and the Big East are chasing us.

I have followed this with some interest, but now that it is done we need to focus on our team getting better. I trust the Coaching staff and only hope He can develop an offense to go with Sterling defense. I don't believe 60 to 65 points will get it done like it has in the past. It seems like Stanford uo UCLA,UW with their new coach will be tough outs in their Places. I know 2018 is right around the Corner, but we must compete for the top next year.

If you can hold your opponents to 51-54 points a game like OSU has the last couple years, 60-65 points works fine. A year earlier the opponents were averaging 57, but the lady Beavs were averaging 70. If a team can stop the tempo of it's opponents, everyone scores lower, to win you just gotta be the higher scoring team of two. The Beavs have done that pretty well as of lately. I get the feeling the Beavs can run if they have to, if they can run less and stuff the opponents, good for them.

I was a bit disappointed with Boley's choice (as I was with "The Franchise" Ionescu's choice), but much of that has to do with the school they ended up at. For all I know, both have found the perfect fit - certainly Ionescu has thrived at that program, so good for her. Once a player makes a choice to go non-Beaver, I don't track them very closely. And Boley twitter followed a bunch of 'uck coaches almost immediately after she announced her transfer, so the connection was strong there early.
I do wonder at the factors that went into Boley's decision - I note a large number of talented players ahead of her at the wing/forward with the 'ucks, but perhaps their run to the excellent 8 influenced her - and similar to my statement of how were she to sign with the Beavers we would be close to challenging for the National Championship likely rings true down the road as well.....though I think the power in the Pac-12 shifts to the state of California (at least for Pac-12 champ contention) in the coming year (of course I hope the Beavers surprise again).
All I can hope is Boley looked at our current wing players and saw plenty of competition for PT. Taya Corosdale certainly is in the same talent realm as Boley and I have high hopes for Maddie Washington - good things happened every time she took to the floor, though the sample size is not large. We know less about Thropay at present. With our big bigs coming in, Marie might be used more creatively as well.
We have hauled in a bunch of talent in the incoming class and then the following year, would have loved to have gotten Boley, but I guess we can't get them all.
Go Beavers!

re: "rising tide" . . . I don't think that it's a coincidence that a lot of top players have both state schools on their short list. Both Boley and Slocum had both schools in their final four, and I believe Simmons did, too. Every time ECC picks up a national or international recruit, it makes it a little easier for SR to coax a recruit into a visit. The more good teams there are in the Pac besides Stanford, the less we're just competing for Stanford's leftovers and the more we're competing with Stanford itself for recruits.
We made it this far with 3* and 4* talent. Next year we'll have three 5*'s and three 4*'s, and in 2018 we'll have five 5*'s, minimum. SR is recruiting at a level at which it really doesn't matter what any other team does, recruiting-wise. We have the players to play with anyone in the country and the limit to our success won't come from what other teams are doing, but from how much of that potential the coaches can turn into performance.

During basketball season it's Eugene Correctional Center. The rest of the year it's Eugene Community College, in recognition of the value of their degrees.
