3 more wins than Luke and era within 0.11. totally dominate today, looked like a major leaguer dealing with a high school team

Pretty close. Opponant Batting avg is almost identical between Luke and Jake.
Luke 114 SO 20 BB .81 WHIP Jake 94 SO 29 BB .90 WHIP
Jake has more wins because he has been pitching against Sunday starters and Luke has been pitching against Friday starters. Luke has given up zero triples or HR this season.

They are both pitching against Friday batters. If the opposition team doesn't score, it does not matter who pitches for them.
I vote for co-pitchers of the year.

Friday batters have had a (slightly) tougher time against Luke than Sunday batters have against Jake. I don't like having to decide between the two either, but if they can't be co-pitchers of the year I have to vote for Luke

Jake has been pitching a bit better here lately. I guess I would go for Luke as best PAC-12 leftie and Jake as the best PAC-12 rightie.
But why stop with just a measly ol' PAC-12......how 'bout National Pitchers of the Year?

With all their stats so balanced, and national awards being from votes who never see them pitch... 13-0 (assuming the W this week) is hard to ignore. I mean holly cow, Luke has a fourth of our losses!

Seriously tho, he has the potential to go 17-0 (win this last series, one at regional, one at super and two in Omaha) no one else in the nation can say that.

But why stop with just a measly ol' PAC-12......how 'bout National Pitchers of the Year? They both HAVE to be included in that conversation, Luke with the lowest ERA and Jake very close by but also with the most wins in the country. Bryce was right in there too until recently. I feel like I normally feel I have a better grasp of who out there is leading the nation in pitching but the Beavers have distracted me so much I haven't paid enough attention to other teams' pitchers. Some may throw more strikeouts or whatever but all I know is nobody can claim what these guys can. Jake has come on a lot stronger as of late. The only reason I give Luke the nod for the season is lowest ERA in the country and not giving up a single 3b or HR. I find that pretty amazing for starting every series opener of the season. But with the way Jake has been pitching and moving to 2nd day I could see him surpassing Luke in the argument as the postseason happens. Wow, what a horrible decision to have to make, huh? Really sucks to be Beaver fans.

I'm not an award guru, but I'm sure there are multiple pitching awards given by different organizations. Hopefully they each win something.

It's Luke 100% -- you can't just look at wins and if the voters who decide these things do, then that's really too bad. There's basically no good argument for Jake being Pitcher of the Year besides comparing records which is a very flawed way to do it.
Luke is 9-1, has a lower ERA, lower WHIP, more strikeouts, and has done it on Friday nights where he has gotten less run support. We've scored 4.36 RPG in Luke's 14 starts and 6.29 RPG in Jake's 14 starts -- while giving up essentially the same amount (1.42 RPG). Jake also picked up and extra win in the first game of the year when he came in, threw 3 pitches, and was the pitcher of record in a 1-0 win. Luke has also been the victim of 2-3 wins being taken away from him in the form of 2 blown saves (Utah and UCLA) and a costly error by Madrigal against UW (might have still been a loss or a ND but getting a groundball to your best player with 2 outs is a tough way to take an L).
In that 3 game stretch where he didn't pick up a win he threw 20.1 innings, gave up 14 hits, and 3 ER. That's his bad stretch of the year! Luke has had a quality start in 13/14 starts I believe while I believe Thompson is at 11/14 -- and Luke's 1 non-quality start was only a third of an inning short. If Luke pitched Sundays he would very likely also be 11-0 or 12-0. Jake has pitched phenomenally this year but Luke has been arguably the best pitcher in the nation doing it with a higher level of difficulty and he hasn't had a single bad start. It will be a shame if he's not rewarded with the conference honor.

Dayam, it's been a tough season when we have "discussions" like this and it is between two pitchers on our team, rather than the conference in general.
