Didn't realize he had a good rs sophmore year last year at New Mexico State -> 2016 First Team All-Conference in the WAC...finished the season with a .329 average, 4 home runs and 28 RBI while appearing in 42 games (39 starts).
This year as RS Junior, starting C again and hitting .367, 15 2B, 7 HR and 50 RBI in 49 games for the Aggies.
Good for him, fun to see, too many other good catchers here but glad it looks like it worked out for him.

That was a bad class to be in if you were up against Logan.

If you catch at Oregon State it means you are pretty good. Guys who were backups but still played in the minors include Parker Berberet, Ryan Gorton, and Nathan Esposito. Also Caleb Hamilton is now catching at Cedar Rapids (middle A) and hitting - slash line 266/397/547 with 76 plate appearances. Esposito transferred to Concordia and is now at Wilmington (high A). Berberet is pitching this year (I think for the first time) and is killing it with a small sample size at Appleton, WI (and is also Trever Morrison's teamate). Berberet got as high as AAA catching.

Catching, pitching, infield, outfield - the Beavs have been well represented in the pro levels. I believe a lot of our players, starters and backups, get drafted just because they are Casey coached - they aren't seen as realistic big league prospects, but they make a great base to help build a farm system around. And some of those "not seen as" end up surprising the big league teams.
