I think Advantage to us....our pitchers are going to be rested heading into Regionals while everyone else is going to be scratching and clawing in their tournaments to make Regionals...so moving up the start date would help us....plus, a Monday final means Luke back for sure after starting Thursday....and then if went Monday, we'd probably push to Sat/Sun/Mon Super if we won, so would be fine for rotation

I'm not really that worried about rest. Luke and Jake are probably going to be on pitch counts for their final starts against Abilene Christian (maybe 80-90 pitches) so it shouldn't be too tough for them to pitch on 6 days rest -- and honestly if we're worried about it we can start them on Thursday and Friday against ACU. That way if we end up playing BYU they're on 7 days of rest; if not they get an extra day.
With that said, it would be a bummer for the fans because that first game would be on Thursday night. I'm sure it would still be well attended but just makes it a lot tougher to make it down for the game.

Why is that an advantage to BYU? Everyone gets the same rest. Do you suppose the gap between their #1 and #4 is that much different than the gap between our #1 and #4? Or do you think that they have this policy for competitive reasons?
The refusal to play on Sundays is probably the biggest reason they aren't in the Big-12 instead of the WCC - which costs them millions in revenues in FB and BB. I'm glad that the school sticks to its principles, despite the cost, and it's good that the NCAA honors that.
