It's not the NCAA keeping those other guys out - they have done it to themselves. Well, we helped. We did actually help most. Even loses to us raised their RPI. Realistically, seeing every team so far except UW... and WSU... there are really only (3) Pac 12 teams deserving. And, two are based solely on RPI as neither has excelled since playing us, and in a weak conference. I wasn't impressed with Zona or Furd... then and certainly not now. I really don't give a s%#te about the "conference" and other teams. We make our own way/name by winning in the post season, not by other teams making it and kissing arse in the Regionals.

It wasn't the SEC or ACC that pooped on us. It was one of our own. I'm told that doesn't happen in those other conferences. If I was on the committee, I'd support every Pac team to the limits of propriety - even ECC. But I'm not on the committee, so I won't be responsible for Meggs getting his comeuppance. I can enjoy the irony without feeling a smidgen of guilt. The ACC got 10 teams last year. The SEC got 7. Conference USA got 4. That leaves 15 at-larges. Meggs may have lit the match, but the ACC and SEC piled up the gunpowder. Of course, it did not help that the 10th best ACC team, Boston College actually beat the Pac-12 champion, Utah, at a neutral site.

This projection is pretty grim for PAC 12, with only 4 Conference teams getting in. That is NOT the result that any Beaver/PAC 12 fan should wish. It's fine wishing that the undeserving smucks don't make the field of 64, but in order for the hideous number of 4 PAC 12 teams making the tournament to increase to at least 5, let's root for UW to win at least 4 games against Stanford and USC over the nest 2 weekends. Preferably including a sweep of USC Arizona, Oregon State, and Stanford look like the cream of the crop in the Pac-12. UCLA is one of the last three in, and the Bruins need to go at least 4-3 to make it in. 3-4, and UCLA will be SOL. 7-0 just about makes it official. Utah is one of the first four out. If the Utes can go 5-1, they probably are in. Anything short of that, they are probably out. Washington is one of the first seven out. The Huskies may have a shot, if they can post a winning record to finish the season. 5-1 probably punches their ticket. California's series with TCU may be the most important series for the conference, but the Bears are probably done. Oregon is the next team in line. They have a shot, if they can go 5-1 or so. Otherwise, they are probably done. Arizona State is the next team in line. They have a shot, if they can go 6-0. Anything short of that, and the Devils' season is over. USC is done.

With our exceptional record this year (who wins 90%) we took 5-6 wins for other teams off the table. Add those wins to UW and they would be in the tournament. For me, I'd rather have those victories and an unprecedented percentage of wins than see another Pac-12 team in the tourney.
