Reading a typically fawning article on Kelsey Plum : "Opposing college coaches admitted to Stars GM Ruth Riley that they eventually ran out of ideas for ways to shut her down...." I think the right idea, if they would have checked with SR, was Gabby Hansen. That said, Kelsey's accomplishments are pretty impressive - and chronicled in the article: www.espn.com/wnba/story/_/id/19389966/the-wnba-kelsey-plum-audacity-hoopsWhat I will be curious to see is - are there not defenders of Gabby's talent level in the WNBA? And I will always wonder - what was Gabby's secret that she was Kelsey's kryptonite? Go Beavs!

And I will always wonder - what was Gabby's secret that she was Kelsey's kryptonite? Go Beavs! It's no secret: #1 Gabby is a serious student of the game. She studied video like a demon, knew all of Kelsey's tendencies by heart and forced her play away from them. #2 Gabby is taller than Kelsey (5'-11" vs 5'-8"), but just as quick - with longer arm reach. #3 Gabby took pride in playing D at top intensity on every single possession. An extremely fit, highly conditioned athlete. #4 Mental toughness above all else. Gabby got in Kelsey's head. I never noticed it until selecting the above photo - but Gabby was 11 to Kelsey's 10. To quote Nigel Tufnel "Ours go to 11". p.s. love you Gabby.

Maybe she could coach the men.
