Great for Syd, bummer for Jamie. Karlie Samuelson did not make it either which surprised me.

Ouch for Jamie. At least she has a husband now. I think Jamie is going to do fine in whatever she chooses. With or without a spouse I wonder what the knock on her is?

It appears like the LA Sparks did take a long look at Jamie: she played in all 3 pre-season games, averaged ~12 mpg, shot 40% from the field and 20% from downtown. Averaged 1 rpg per game and averaged 4.3ppg. I don't follow the WNBA enough to know what sort of numbers they expect......but it does appear tough to break in to the WNBA, with roster limits at 12. I also seem to recall the LA Sparks have a couple guards coming back from injury, but lost their long range gunner, hence Syd. Chantel Osahor was waived as well, I see: www.wnba.com/transactions/Go Beavs!

It's really, really tough to make the WNBA. 12-player rosters and only 12 teams. So, maybe two dozen players "stick" each year. But there are leagues overseas that pay as well or better.
I am not at all surprised about Osahor. I couldn't figure out why she was drafted in the first place - she isn't at all athletic enough for that level.
